In the hiring process the HR recruiter will probably ask what your expectation is. If you have a current job that makes X I would tell them your expectations are X + Y. Y being whatever you want to be making for your next career move. Don’t tell them what you are currently making, lie, and tell them what you want to be making as what you are currently making.
If you get to the interview do your best to make the good impression. Show your knowledge and experience. Be very positive, and excited for the role. If they follow up to give you an offer. And it’s below X + Y. Tell them you are interested in the role and think it would be a good fit ( presuming you want the job) But you are currently already making X + Y. And would need At least parity to consider moving or would expect X + Y + Z if you have told them X + Y is what you are making.
They will either meet your number, or something less. If less is it greater than X? If so consider the job if you can see yourself working there for atleast 2 years at that salary. You may consider if you can get more somewhere else. But if it’s a step up feel good about yourself for making that happen in your life.
If you accept the job.
Work the two years as best you can before popping your head up and looking elsewhere for another move. The goal would be to use those two years to accomplish something to put on your resume. Then repeat. Otherwise I would do research to try to find the salary ranges of that job, Google search, check out Glassdoor etc.

Those that think this way also don’t know that Twitter and any other company also can’t even be sure of the follower count. Even in a centralized service. Developers introduce hacks and bugs to get things done, intentional and unintentional. How many times have we heard complaints from people saying they suddenly “lost a lot of followers”. Because they eliminated bots was one explanation, but knowing which accounts are bots is not a perfect science, and there is certainly room for the follower counting process to have bugs. Many of us work at software companies, we all know where skeletons are. I have worked at companies that disagreed internally about the number of clients we had. Depends on what your logic is when running the query and there is room for debate on what an accurate count is. Do you count all existing users? Do you only count active users? Etc etc. In twitter’s case there just isn’t anyone else to argue with.
The great news is that these two desires are not mutually exclusive because one of the main reasons for the lack of affordable housing is the zoning restrictions placed on properties. Zoning restrictions which require minimum sqft housing, minimum lot sizes, and exclusively single family homes are by their definition not free markets and they regulate out of existence affordable housing.
