It is one of the best of Nietzsche IMO. Also it is more 'readable' than some of his other works. I have read it a number of times and highly recommend it. Enjoy 🧡
NOSTR.....
How to pronounce it?
Well this got me thinking about my country of birth, Wales in the the UK.
Every night before sleep my family would say.... 'Nos Dda.'
How do you say goodnight in Welsh?
Wondering how to say goodnight in Welsh? It's simply, 'nos da', with nos meaning night and da meaning good.
So, for myself the pronunciation of NOSTR is practically the same as the Welsh expression for goodnight.

Hidden in the sands of western Inner Mongolia lie the eerie ruins of Khara Khoto, also known as the “Black City.”
Founded in 1032, the city was a bustling trading center along the Silk Road. But toward the end of the 14th century, it mysteriously fell silent, likely due to war or a diverted water source.
Buried beneath the sand for centuries, Khara Khoto was rediscovered in the early 20th century, bringing with it a collection of fascinating artifacts: religious texts, artworks, and everyday objects that give us a glimpse into life in this long-vanished city.

In *The No Asshole Rule*, Robert I. Sutton presents a compelling case against the destructive impact of toxic behavior in the workplace. The book examines how "assholes," as he labels chronically hostile individuals, harm productivity, morale, and employee well-being. Sutton also provides actionable strategies for identifying, managing, and eliminating these negative behaviors to foster a healthier and more respectful work environment.
Here are key lessons from the book:
1. The Definition of an "Asshole": Sutton characterizes an "asshole" as someone who habitually demeans or belittles others, often through verbal abuse, bullying, or undermining. This focus on recurring behavior emphasizes that the problem lies in ongoing patterns of toxicity rather than occasional incidents.
2. The Costs of Toxic Behavior: The book underscores both financial and emotional costs associated with toxic individuals. These costs, or "asshole taxes," manifest as decreased productivity, higher employee turnover, and recruitment expenses, creating an environment that drains time and morale.
3. Emotional Impact on Employees: Sutton explores the toll that toxic behavior takes on employees, who may experience stress, anxiety, burnout, and low job satisfaction. The emotional fallout not only affects individual well-being but also undermines team performance and overall engagement.
4. The "No Asshole Rule": At the book's core is the concept of a "No Asshole Rule" — a guideline for maintaining a respectful workplace culture by neither hiring nor tolerating individuals with toxic behaviors. Sutton stresses the importance of consistently enforcing this rule to protect and strengthen organizational culture.
5. Dealing with Toxic Individuals: Sutton provides practical advice for managing toxic colleagues, such as directly addressing harmful behavior, establishing policies that discourage toxicity, and promoting leadership examples that emphasize civility. He encourages employees to limit interactions with toxic individuals whenever feasible.
6. Self-Reflection and Accountability: Sutton also urges readers to reflect on their own behaviors, noting that everyone can engage in toxic actions at times. Self-awareness and accountability are essential for cultivating a positive workplace dynamic and for personal growth.
7. Creating a Civil Workplace: The book offers guidance on creating a respectful and kind workplace culture by prioritizing transparency, empathy, and open communication. Organizations that actively discourage toxic behavior are better equipped to attract and retain top talent, contributing to long-term success.
*The No Asshole Rule* is an insightful resource for leaders and employees aiming to build a healthier, more productive workplace. By addressing the harm caused by toxic behavior and suggesting practical solutions, Sutton highlights the critical importance of a respectful, positive environment. Enforcing the "No Asshole Rule" can ultimately lead to higher morale, enhanced collaboration, and organizational success.

Stop Lying to Yourself by Simon Gilham delivers tough-love insights on how to confront hard truths and make positive life changes.
Here are lessons from the book:
1. Stop Making Excuses: Avoid rationalizing bad behavior—whether in your personal or professional life. You deserve better, and acknowledging this is the first step toward improvement.
2. Own Your Choices: Take responsibility for your decisions and actions. Blaming others keeps you stuck, while ownership gives you control to change.
3. Face Discomfort: Growth often comes from uncomfortable situations. Don't shy away from facing hard truths, even if they challenge your current perspective.
4. Value Your Worth: Stop selling yourself short in relationships or work. Recognize your value, set boundaries, and demand respect accordingly.
5. Cut Out Toxicity: Whether it’s a friend, a partner, or a bad habit, eliminate the toxic influences in your life to make space for healthier, more fulfilling connections.
6. Embrace Honesty: Lying to yourself about how you feel or what you want prevents personal growth. Start being brutally honest with yourself, even if it feels harsh.
7. Stop Seeking Validation: Constantly seeking approval from others can be a trap. Focus on your own goals and self-approval rather than external praise.
8. Don't Settle: Settling for less than you deserve—be it in love, work, or life—leads to long-term dissatisfaction. Aim for what truly makes you happy.
9. Push Beyond Fear: Fear often holds us back from pursuing our dreams. Push through it and challenge yourself to go beyond your comfort zone.
10. Take Action Now: Stop waiting for the "right time" to make a change. Life is happening now, so start taking steps toward a better version of yourself today.
The book offers practical advice, empowering readers to finally make the positive changes they deserve by confronting hard truths about themselves and their lives.

NOVEMBER 1971
Humble Pie released the live double-LP Performance Rockin' the Fillmore, recorded at the Fillmore East in New York City on May 28–29, 1971.
The hour-long set contains one original song and several cover versions. "I Don't Need No Doctor" was the biggest hit from the album, having been issued as an edited single and reaching #73 on the Billboard Hot 100 in October 1971. The song listed as "Four Day Creep", and attributed to the classic blues singer Ida Cox, bears no melodic or lyrical resemblance to her self-recorded composition of that title.
The single version of "I Don't Need No Doctor" was backed with "A Song for Jenny" from the Rock On album, which Marriott wrote for his first wife, Jenny Rylance. After the album was mixed, and shortly before it was released, guitarist Peter Frampton left the band[6] because of growing friction between him and Marriott. The album's steady sales helped it to become the band's first RIAA gold record. Its popularity helped the band's previous album, Rock On, reach gold album status.

"Beyond Good and Evil" is a philosophical work by Friedrich Nietzsche, first published in 1886. The full title is "Beyond Good and Evil: Prelude to a Philosophy of the Future." In this book, Nietzsche critiques traditional moral values and the philosophical ideas that underpin them, particularly those stemming from Western thought.
The text serves as a continuation and expansion of ideas presented in his earlier work, "Thus Spoke Zarathustra," but adopts a more critical and polemical tone. Nietzsche argues against the simplistic dichotomy of good and evil, suggesting that these concepts are often used to manipulate and control individuals. He emphasizes the importance of individual perspective and the subjective nature of morality, proposing that values should be re-evaluated in light of human experience and the will to power.
Nietzsche's writing in "Beyond Good and Evil" is characterized by its aphoristic style, combining sharp insights with a poetic quality. He challenges readers to question established norms and encourages a more profound exploration of human instincts and desires. The work is significant for its influence on existentialism and postmodern philosophy, as it lays the groundwork for later discussions about morality, truth, and the nature of existence.
