I have successfully completed my technician class amateur radio license exam, and just paid my FCC fees. I await the issuance of a Call Sign. Does anyone have information on how long that takes?

I will start with a little QRZ-1 HT that is recommended for beginners. I believe I have enough information to keep myself busy with it for some time, but I expect to be back later for help learning how to connect my bitcoin and lightning nodes to the blockchain via radio.

Thanks, I do have questions. As I read the exam book, I see different implementations of digital radio, making it appear that talkgroups implemented by one version will not be available to users whose radios have a different implementation. Is this a limitation of the radio or will most digital radios be able to tune to most talkgroups? If it is a radio limitation, is there information about which digital implementation would be preferable? It appears the yeas VX6R is without this capability to participate in talkgroups, is that right?

I expect to attain my ham license soon. My interest are to be able to have access to information that might provide situational awareness over the amateur network. I am looking at a starter radio and believe a Yaesu FT-65R HT might be the thing. If there are recommendations for a different starter radio, please share them. Is there a mobile radio, convertible to a base station that I should consider?

Let us avoid metaphysics together. But if you have a description from your experience of a compelling authority over the ruling class, I would like you to share that with me. My experience tells me such an authority is some type of ‘general will’ or ‘banding together’ (i.e., a religion) of like minded actors, who compel compliance to their orthodoxy with a collective sanctioning and suppression of types of thinking.

Would that it were that some higher power compelled the ruling class. Sometimes, I foolishly believe that I myself am compelled by that higher power when I act in accordance with the laws I establish and the punishments I deliver.

I can not make distinction among work, hard work, more work. In my understanding, the possibilities are already maximized, work is what actualizes potentialities and creates reality. No work ‘guarantees’ results, impact or an intended reality, but all work ‘guarantees’ change. As I ponder how work actualizes intent, I believe there is only the actor’s judgment to determine. Yet the collective action of a population does not rest on a singular intent but what it effects becomes our unintentional reality almost by definition. I find this unintentional or unintelligent reality somewhat beautiful.

When you say ‘must’, i.e., then upon whom is the requirement levied, who is compelled? Clearly that actor is not complying in accordance with this ‘must’. What is to be done about that?
