You know what else occurs more broadly re: implementation of Governance questions and approach. Recently there was an interesting difference in the way in what an NIP (94?) which lead to occurred in close 'temporal-proximity' to (NIP95? - Data on nostr relays related(?)). I wonder....if prior to the actual implementation of the code...the initiation of the 'upgrade/implementation event' triggered a 24hr 'community review and audit' ... OR if it was major...what if a certain percentage of participant community/sensible threshold of agreement with the inaugural implementation of major NIPs for example. --- Just kinda ...rambling aloud bringing known variables and 'problems' together a bit. ---- Gn!

You know what might be interesting? --- A Parallel / Private developer environment & dashboard. To allow public and private 'live' collaborative code and development. -- The definition of problems and logical errors or potential inconsistencies, or a self-referential loop that a little too small here or there kinda thing. -- A 24hr live -global space- to develop, trouble-shoot, problem solve, collectively in simultaneity. -- Just THAT tacked onto a GitHub clone ... Could prove to be - a compelling developer environment, conducive to broad accord, cooperation, understanding, and organically integrate multiple perspectives and approaches to a problem and have that 'forged' into the code of a given 'Project(s)' approach. -- Just an 'off the top' thought re: Inducement to developer participation.

'To better come to understand Self & Circumstance' - Cheers indeed; though perchance a bit more 'green.' -- Huzzah.

A short story:

So I've been trying to get a lot of renovations and work done on the house and trying to finish the basement. I've recently gotten an estimate for putting a fence around the yard for the dogs.

It was a little more than I hoped but I had intended to just move forward, but they wanted a significant deposit immediately to get started. This immediately ran me into the headache of going from Bitcoin to USD in a quick and inexpensive manner.

This was also while ACH transfers that I've done to move the dollars to Fold (no way I'm spending thousands and not getting sats back on it), are suddenly taking 3x as long. A problem that started when SVB blew up.

After realizing that this was going to take a 2% fee on CashApp to sell, an ACH to my bank, then another ACH to my Fold, I decided to give a pitch for them to save me all those steps and just accept Bitcoin directly with the 1% fee using OpenNode.

The guy I was working with was interested and on board with my argument, but the owner refused despite the fact that it would obviously save them money and mean I could pay the deposit in 10 minutes time with no selling fee at all.

At this point I decided I was going to do something, especially with these sorts of jobs that involve large transfers which are a huge pain in dollars. I was just going to take the time to find someone who would accept Bitcoin.

I politely declined to do business with them. My response:

"Thanks man, appreciate the reply. I'm gonna look for other contractors here for a bit because I'd rather not build a relationship with a company that makes me have to revert to using a banking system that I literally could not despise more, or trust any less."

"I may get back in touch with you in a few weeks if there seems no other good option. No hard feelings, I do appreciate you taking this to the owner."

I added some choice words about the banking system for flair. 😆

The worker I was chatting with immediately agreed and then we started a short back and forth about how corrupt the banks were, why Bitcoin (of course he said crypto, lol) was the future, and HE brought up how the Fed was going to push a CBDC.

"Same. The more we use Bitcoin, the more irrelevant their attempt to centralize it is.

If the day comes that they push a CBDC on us, I'll officially be refusing to do business with anyone who doesn't accept Bitcoin, because I'm not touching that crap."

He responded with "Agreed!"

... that's where we left it.

------------------------------------------------------------------

I just got a text message tonight from the guy. He said the owner is willing to work with #Bitcoin if I hadn't found someone else yet.

I think it's time that I will start pitching the case for Bitcoin, in short and sweet bullet points, with every company I work with — & where it feels like it makes sense, I'm going to refuse to do business with anyone who doesn't accept Bitcoin.

We have weight in the market. We need to be the intransigent minority. Bitcoin won't save the economy if no one knows how to use it, or is too afraid and too panicked to try something new when the shit hits the fan. The time to push for integration is now.

My 'knee jerk' notion is - leading indicator. -grin- ... That expressed, I also take occasion to weave Bitcoin, publicly distributed ledgers, personal sovereignty and liberty, global p2p ..... Thanks for sharing your considered thoughts!

Yes, intrigued to learn more about the fees; unexpected upon first attempt to 'zap.' -- Makes sense now, a piece of the value of running a node locally...

#Bitcoin out here with that 'Dylan Thomas' energy @ 'Rage against the dying of the light' -- ! Love this.

Love this. -- Yeah. I went with the 'not suffering fools' approach coupled with just being a bit at having to engage in 'discussions' that really should be simple statements of facts with people about 10 years ago. -- Unfortunately, about 17-18% of the population with a good bit of money coupled with 'effective propaganda and bots' have been able to convince another 32-33% that they are actually 50-51%. And the madness spreads .... -- Seems that the time has come where we MUST because the alternative is at this point...to understand...increasingly untenable.

This! -- Tax code for instance is ridiculously bloated. -- To radically improve the situation for greater than 90% of the US population. Consider - vast majority makes less than 100k, very few make 1,000,000 per year. --- If one is making say $40,000 a year they should 'owe' a symbolic $1 'Citizen Tax' to help with paperwork kinda thing. -- If one is making $100,000 just to keep it simple say we take a progressive taxation scheme that hits 7% or so at 100k and say this increase to 10% up to $1,000,000. --- That general idea could fit on a post-it note, would be easy to understand and implement and would cover 90-something percent of the US population. -- And I think it should be structured such that regardless of where the income is from for the most part. -- By taking away the intentional complexity we gain alot more clarity of direction and understanding of where we actually stand re: tax base etc. -- This is of course, precisely WHY these things bloat to several pages...to cover the loopholes and BS for a privileged few.

Annie with facts. -- The content, import, 'truth quotient' and general strength of argument and statement of position is something at which Jack excels. -- There is not a valid rebuttal to his general position re: import and potential of Bitcoin/Lightning/Blockchain, and this will be manifestly plain to all who listen with an objective mind and earnest intention to understand and pursue an equitable and optimized outcome.

'Hoodie -Suit' Jacket it is - business/bs on the outside, with culture/truth underneath. -- A dash of 'When in Rome' with a sprinkle of 'I came as one of you, to discuss a better way...' -- You got this my man and We got you. -- Let's get it!
