Not many things capture my imagination these days, but this podcast and OceanBuilders’ website really inspired some ideas today about a different way of off grid living. While on-land models exist, the marine model reminds me of the freedom that I experienced for a time in my 20’s, when I lived on a houseboat. The podcast is worth a listen. In fact the whole channel “The Watchman Privacy Podcast” is loaded with great content.
Now that’s a practical sled. Something you can actually DO some things with. Not the alien craft I see on most peoples’ sled decks around here lol.
I was fortunate to grow up in such an environment. My sister and I scraped scores of pelts as kids. My Dad was quite the Grizzly Adams kind of guy. Still is I suppose, but he’s in his late 70’s now. He has slowed down a bit. I wish I still had the raccoon hat he gave me as a kid…

As far as meat goes, it’s cheaper to find a local rancher that’ll sell you a quarter cow every now and then. I just do it to be outside, hang with my buddies and stay semi current on the skills.
When I’m not gardening, hunting, fishing, preserving, and teaching my kids how to do practical things, I enjoy front-running banks and sovereign wealth funds.

Well, we finally got the last of the office move done today, and realized that our mascot Mr. Bunyan might make the perfect adornment to this feature wall instead of a faux fireplace. Arnie, one of our falling contractors, carved this life sized statue of a mid 1900’s logger a few years back, complete with a vintage power saw with a 36” bar. He’s one talented dude. #forestry #arboriculture #grownostr 
Browned ground beef, egg, and chopped onions in a muffin tin greased up with beef tallow. Topped with cheese and baked at 425 for 20 mins. Carnivore muffin gut bombs! You can even line the muffin tin sections’ sides with bacon if you like. #protein
