the big social media platforms wreck your life with their clickbait and highly addictive algorithms.
nostr as social media is like methadone. it gives you the same high when you find someone new to follow or have a cool connection with a peer but without the addictive trappings.
eventually, you realize that maybe you don't need to socialize online. maybe you can be more present IRL and being on nostr is the first step in taking your life back.
the woven wrap I made worked out really well! I just tried it using the no-sew ring sling wrap method. it is so easy to get taro in and snug him up close to me. the best part is that the rings aren't attached so I can try other wrap methods too.
very proud of myself for figuring this mom stuff out ๐ #momstr
you're not a real hacker til you have five screens with green text on black command line windows that's constantly scrolling ๐
Hey nostr ๐ #asknostr
For those that listen to our content nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld, do you find our nameโฆdistracting?
Iโm talking about the word โprogressiveโ
Do you find itโs a donโt judge a book by its cover situation for those that might not be crazy about the word progressive? Or do you love the name/word? Comment below from any of the 3 options:
1) keep the name
2) change the name
3) I donโt listen, doesnโt feel like itโs for me
I haven't listened to your podcast but I also don't listen to any Bitcoin podcasts. I'd vote 3 but not because I oppose your viewpoints.
I just wanted to say that it's important to be clear and stand for what you believe. Your name sets the expectation of what kind of content and viewpoint you provide.
The people that gloss over your podcast by name alone are close minded. They're not ready to hear what you have to say. They can stew in their bubble until they've grown up enough to be able to handle listening to an opinion opposite of theirs.
Keep your name. Be proud of it. I think it encompasses you very well.
good morning ๐ life is good.
hug your family and be grateful that Kendrick didn't drop a 6 minute diss track about you on a Tuesday morning.
SIX MINUTES STRAIGHT. NO BARS WASTED. damn.
that sucks!!! I hate it when that happens
just kidding ๐ I think you put it really well when you said that we're trying to fit more into less. maybe vestigial from the 140 character limit?
I need to hear this today. my plants are super neglected right now.
yeah, it took me a few tries before I felt confident about using the stretchy wrap. definitely takes practice.
taro doesn't like it when I'm in the process of putting him in but he sure loves it when I walk around and he gets to see all the sights.
yeap! I have this same exact one. it only spits when I try to iron with it before it finishes heating up. so, user error ๐ it doesn't even take long to heat up, I'm just impatient.
I also only use distilled water. I've destroyed so many irons with hard water build up.
Be me, reading about whether aluminum or stainless steel irons are better, shopping for an iron for sewing purposes

Proceed to talk about irons.
Notice he's humming something.
Iron Man.
...
I'm very happy ^__^

if you have the space and have to iron a lot, get a gravity iron! that's my main iron.
since my craft room is not usable right now, I've been using a Rowenta in a pinch.
it wasn't in deep freeze, just in the back of the fridge.
it is very hard to kill a sourdough starter as long as it's established. I think of this video where he sets his sourdough starter on the kitchen counter (room temp) for THREE WEEKS ๐ while he went on vacation. he revived it and baked with it no problem.
it does take quite a bit of commitment in the beginning to get it going though. I think it took me like a month of persistence to get it mature and active enough to bake with.
I've retrieved my sourdough starter from the far back wall of the fridge. it's been months since I fed it with the whole giving birth and taking care of a new babe stuff going on.
I stirred in the layer of hooch and gave it a feed. not sure if I'll bake or just refresh the starter and stick it back in the fridge for future me.

I haven't much yet either cuz babe is either eating or sleeping. I think it'll happen more in the future. the stretchy wrap I have is really great but I'm looking forward to trying a woven one.
I showed husband and he's like, yup, I got those in my shopping cart for later ๐
