I cook mostly by intuition so I'll try my best with a recipe.
add water, soy sauce, spices (I used ginger, star anise and this spice mix that my mom got which is just labeled "marinade spice")
the ratio of soy sauce to water affects how salty the marinade is which in turn affects how long you marinade for.
bring the marinade to a boil and add in your chicken wings and drums. if you're doing a mix of wings and drums, add the drums first. they're thicker so need a little more time.
keep the heat up and boil everything. my mom says to turn the heat off and put the lid on when the wings plump up. imo, a little imprecise so I stuck a meat thermometer into one of the drums and waited for the meat to hit 140F or so.
once it hits that temp, turn off the fire, put the lid on and remove from heat. leave it to marinade and transfer to the fridge to continue cooling. you can eat it anywhere between an hour after or the next day. the intensity of the marinade increases the longer it's in the marinade.
hope that helps!
marinated chicken wings. so easy and so good. #foodstr
knitting has made me doubt several times my ability to count to ten properly π
cuuute! taro has been playing in my scrap fabric pile. so many colors! textures!
or you can make what we call American carbonara. Italians, close your earholes.
this is for a two person serving
boil up some pasta. we use spaghetti.
fry up some chopped up bacon, about 4 slices, to your desired amount of crispness. take the bacon off the pan and pour the grease off.
beat one whole egg.
let the pan and grease cool a bit. add about half the grease back in with all the bacon. pull the pasta out of the water and straight into the pan. add the beaten egg in and stir the crap out of it to emulsify the egg and grease. you wanted to cool the pan and grease earlier so you don't scramble the eggs immediately. usually the wet pasta hitting the pan is enough to suck some heat out.
when its all come together, season with salt, pepper and your favorite grated cheese (use parm from a can if you must. we grate some off a parmesan block)
congrats on the finish!
How did I live stream grilling a steak from my phone yesterday? I'm glad you asked!
First, you need a live video streaming app on your phone. I used Larix Broadcaster. It's available for both Android and iOS.
Next, I visited https://zap.stream/settings/stream from Kiwi browser and signed in with my Nostr Connect browser extension. Once signed in, I configured my stream settings and paid the Lightning invoice to allow me to stream. I paid 1K sats and chose to use the best quality.
Then, I opened Larix and went into settings to add a new connection. I added a zap.stream connection with the stream URL and stream key that I obtained above.
Finally, I edited my stream name from my https://zap.stream/dashboard and tapped the camera shutter button on Larix.
Boom. Zap.stream live streaming from mobile.
The only real issue is being unable to view comments on mobile. You need a second device to do that. Though, I wonder if I could have split screened it? Probably. It would have been very small though.
Good luck!
this sounds so easy!
what I've been up to
making a halloweeeny crochet doily for a friend's birthday. I may or may not use some stuff glue to shape it into a treat bowl.
what taro has been up to
blowing raspberries at both ends, turning his play area into a drool swimming puddle during tummy time and getting very interested in big people food π€€

I'll give this a listen soon. nice to see a podcast like this :)
how interesting... did it work?
taro is an absolute nap champ today. there's a wood chipper working overtime on our street today and he's all like π΄π€
there's something so charming about early projects π₯°
lol this idea is so adorable π
this is so pretty!!!
taro has been really good. I just put him down for his nap. he was awake and in complete nap defiance but I put him in his crib after singing him his nap time song and walked out of the room.
he quietly fussed and I got started on my kitchen chores. when I looked at the baby monitor a few minutes later, he was completely zonked out.

I think Elizabeth Zimmerman might fit the bill.
