I saw this on a cardboard box and thought what the heck is a bean outsider?

I talked constantly about what was going on. "We're going to the kitchen and opening the fridge, now we're getting the milk." The people at the grocery looked at me like I was crazy because I said and spelled most things I was putting in the cart. He's used complete sentences pretty much since he started talking and hasn't shut up since 😂😂. I miss those days.

Cute fabrics!! My mom made us tons when mine was a baby. Cotton fabric on one side and flannel on the other was the peefect weight for us. Great for tummy time, he loved to look at the patterns.

I've been focused more on IRL stuff the past week.

I bought a new vehicle, a Honda Element. (2006 EX, MT, AWD with 260k miles on it, but generally very well maintained and with no appreciable rust.) It needs some work and a lot of cleaning. I have been learning it as I check it out and cleaning everything as I go. That's taken up quite a lot of my time. It's easy to work on. The only two things that I don't really care for are the fuel consumption (compared to my Fit) and that the seats, while generally comfy, have no side bolsters and the body thing handles well enough to be fun, but it's less fun when you're at risk of sliding off the seat. 😂

The heat finally kicked in, hitting hard and fast. I'm tolerating it better now that I'm down 45-50lbs, but gosh, I hate heat and humidity. The good thing about it is that I can now finally get to installing the next two solar panels on my trailer. A couple of weeks ago I had leaned the remaining panels off the end of my trailer (facing roughly west) and hooked them up. I've seen some fairly ridiculous peak power input with that really unoptimized setup. Before it got hot, I was running my S9 at night at a reduced watt target, then letting the solar charge the battery pack and a few days, I got a drained pack topped off pretty handily. "Free" mining is pretty great, but I can't run it in my trailer unless I can figure out what to do with the heat, since it's definitely AC season now.

My trip to summit Mt. Katadin has mostly been figured out. I'll have two guys coming with me that have actually made it up the mountain. I've been putting in miles, even in the heat, to get ready for that. I am hoping to get out on a much more challenging trail this weekend, though, as I need to get my feet used to highly variable elevation changes on big rocks. Mt. Katadin is, towards the top, more mountaineering than anything that resembles hiking.

I'm trying to stick with carnivore, but it's blackberry season and my neice comes over to visit and gives me blackberries, and I'm not going to turn them down. ☺️

I think that's it for an update. I've got a London broil on the grill and I'm hungry. I don't think I got enough fat yesterday, so I'm extra hungry today.

I actually left JoAnn's with more than I planned to, instead of empty handed because it's totally normal for a 51 yr old woman to get a sudden urge to make a pink faux fur pillow. Seeing all the bare shelves makes me sad. And all of the elastic was some brand I've never heard of.

I have now, for the first time, completed a sketchbook!!! 🎉

It is such a joy to flip through it and see the #proofofwork of my daily sketches over the past 2.5 months.

I thought about stopping here. Because the end of a book is closure. Because it would be nice not to feel obligated to do one every day. Because there are other art things I want to focus on.

I thought about continuing to a new 4” x 4” sketchbook. Because Mom has more flowers I want to draw and know the names of. Because I love looking back at the accumulated drawings. Because I thought of a theme for July’s drawings.

Valid reasons on both sides.

Going to keep going for now. 👍

The frogs are speckled clay while the leaves are white clay. Even with the same translucent green glaze on both, there should be some interesting contrast.

Mine is 8 and his dad just discovered half a sandwich under his seat that had been there for like a month or more. Couldn't figure out why the van smelled so bad.
