I think the point is that they'll do a UI redesign soon but it isn't done yet
wonder how IPFS works π€

My feed has been quiet today π€
amethyst could do that already π
I wonder how one would implement followers-only or private posts on Nostr π€
Some encryption shenanigans, maybe?
time for https://forgejo.org ;)
I got an email from Amazon that my account has been suspended. Apparently they did not like I've been buying gift cards with lightning. What are they even for then? Why do they sell them in stores?
My evening reading is gone, the books I "bought" are gone and it all came from no-reply email address. You can reach customer support, just login to your account. Wait a minute.
I'll be replacing my e-reader with nostr:npub1a00wj229auzjswlq4s77y4u8eqdx5k9ppatgl8rtv8va65f6mwksum9q3h when it arrives. And will switch to Nostr with whatever I can. What a shitshow.
grab some digital copies from the web, see things like Anna's Archive.
if buying isn't owning, piracy isn't stealing.
there's not enough cat pics on Nostr tbh
generally yeah, unless you're looking for some more fun social features (stickers for instance)

Matrix 1.11 is here with authenticated media! π
The matrix.org homeserver will be rolling this out relatively quickly β watch the blog for news. In the meantime, developers are encouraged to update as soon as possible.
Read the release announcement for full details β‘οΈ https://matrix.org/blog/2024/06/20/matrix-v1.11-release/
Gotta love some Matrix improvements. Will do fine until SimpleX finishes super peers.
Amethyst is a pretty neat client I'd say

This is because, effectively, when you start out a network proof-of-work, eventually, more people will simply have machines that have more processing power. Those same people will then be able to get the biggest share of any given network and as such become the biggest holders; Become the ones with the most money.
Even if you then switch to proof of stake, the same people are still going to have a lot of money that they can stake in and still remain big on the network.
If you do it the other way around, it will also just happen the other way around. People with lots of money will eventually enter the scene and then become the biggest holders. And once you switch that to PoW, they will have the money to get the processing power to remain big.
I use it and I like it.
Uses double-ratchet from Signal + some neat quantum resistance stuff, uses user-selected relays to send messages and doesn't use persistent user identifiers. Lots of metadata privacy to be had :)
