It's a good idea to look at Phoenix to learn from, but I don't think it's the solution. Would rather run a node on a secure host than a phone.
Anyone have experience with Mutiny Wallet? Is there a project something like it that people would recommend? Something easy to deploy on a linux server that does not have any obscure dependencies?

If you’re using a custodial Lightning wallet, there’s no guarantee that the sats are there (don’t trust, verify, and all that). You can run your own Lightning node with your own hardware and seed phrase, in which case your open Lightning channels are essentially a 2-of-2 multi sig with channel partners.
An intro to this would be non-custodial LN wallets like Phoenix or Breez (I’ve liked both).

I still have not setup a wallet because custodial wallets are not the solution and only perpetuate the problem.
So far the technical details for LN Nodes give me the impression that it will be a huge time commitment to setup. I appreciate the links and continue to investigate. I also have vps' ready to roll as soon as I can get my head around the tech.

It's still early, and the clients are very different one from another. Try different clients. Gossip is the best, but I'm on a linux box not a phone.

I expect big changes coming to data transfer over the internet. Not allowing any traffic without the mark of the beast, and going after anything encrypted as if it were someone questioning election results. I have been thinking about how to encrypt using obfuscation rather than encryption.
In fact, It has been in the back of my mind for quite some time that high volume of zaps could serve to be that obfuscation for bitcoin transactions. Not sure who pulls that sting... Jack probably knows that club.
Things are going to heat up frens. Stacking sats wont save you anymore than gold coins. It is true, they cant stop bitcoin, but they do funnel and filter the internet. I am more bullish on mesh nets than bitcoin, unpopular as that statement is.
