Yeah - even if he said okay let’s setup the wallet.. I would of set him up but the fact he wasn’t interested makes me think fuck that.. don’t wanna do business with him..

Where I’m from - 99.9% of people don’t have a clue what BTC is and how to use it.. they all moan about the government yet they don’t wanna look at alternatives..

Also ordering online - my eyes are pretty screwed so it would probably be rather complicated..

I want businesses to at least give the option

Exactly 4 years ago today, I sat in a company-wide meeting with a "crypto expert."

He said Bitcoin was useless beyond being digital gold — and some random altcoin called Polkadot was the future. Everyone thanked him for his wisdom. We were supposed to learn from "industry experts" to keep up with trends as early-stage venture investors.

I started digging deeper into Bitcoin and calling out altcoins as scams.

A senior partner pulled me aside and tore me down:

"Are we done here?"

"You have no track record."

"Your conviction is like a religious belief."

"You're being irrational and ideological."

He laughed when I said maybe the financial system is broken. From his perspective, he couldn’t see it — because he was making a fortune pumping startups that barely existed. The irony was lost on him: the very fact that so much money was being thrown at vaporware proved just how broken the system was.

Another partner called me a spruiker — said I was trying to pump my own Bitcoin bag to get rich and dump it on others.

It was hard to hold steady when surrounded by people who benefit from the status quo.

That day, I wrote in my journal: "As of today, I've decided to leave [this company]."

Four years later, Polkadot is down 90% against Bitcoin. And it’s been the best four years of my life.

(Btw, I use a journalling app called Journey that reminds me of what I wrote x years ago today, it's useful for reflecting)

If you setup your mindset that you might have to move every 2-3 years - so be it.. better than having a 30 year mortgage around your neck..

Also it’s impossible for buying property without having a fair chunk of liquidity which is essentially burnt…

Housing is mostly a liability.

It is abused to get you in to debt.

You factually never own it as you pay taxes and by law they can confiscate it.

They abused the system so it became a saving account for many, which clearly doesn't work for long.

It is an anchor for most to stay put.

All to achieve you work your whole life, are too busy to think and actually move to a better jurisdiction/life.

How so? I've been a buying advocate for a long time. Reinforced by people getting priced out of their homes due to annual rent increases. Rent pays the owners' costs and (usually) then some. Maybe depends on the country? I know 30 year fixed rate loans aren't the norm everywhere.

Where I’m from - the average closing costs as a percentage of the house is 10% excluding the deposit needed which is a minimum of 10%

So roughly works out at $20-25k liquid cash needed plus it takes 3 months to close

it is definitely doable, a little searching turned up some code that could be used. if there is not already a tool out there, would be a good tool to create. i could probably build a terminal script to do it, just a matter of taking the time
