Question for #asknostr - what happens if users are reported? I noticed a “report user” option on Primal. Do the client devs get that report and if so what’s the process there?

Do clients provide some level of content moderation or is it mostly up to the user to choose what and who they see?

On TikTok there are a lot of repliers who seem concerned about trolls or other villains. As a veteran of old-Twitter, I’m not very concerned, myself, haha, but I am curious how this all shakes out in #nostr.

Which client do you use mostly?

Working on an article about #Nostr now and I am hoping it helps the newcomers feel a little more confident with navigating the learning curve.

Are there any specific tips or suggestions you would include to new users besides the usual “keep your keys safe” and “set up your lightning wallet for zaps”?

GM and happy SATurday 😁 I have a confession to make: if I sound like I know a few things about social media platforms, it’s because once upon a time, ten plus years ago, I was working toward a PhD (I quit ABD) and my dissertation was a discourse analysis of the performance of leadership on Twitter.

At that time, no one on my committee understood how it would even be possible to “perform leadership” on Twitter. Man. Were they wrong. Lol.

But for the first time, I’m kinda glad I didn’t finish that dissertation because now I can write a whole book about #Nostr and the future of online social forums. Old Twitter was just a warm up! 🤣

The celebrities I have met aren’t usually very focused on building their audience because the audience comes naturally to them. I think what @duchess pointed out in her repost of this was right - that this particular person is more than a celebrity - she’s motivated by and making content specifically about the need for a better way to pass notes on the internet.
