Former USAID exec says over 95% of staff are Dems, over 95% of funding went to far left NGOs
And suddenly, just like that, diversity (of opinion) wasn't our strength.
He fights because the truth slams hard and fast against his carefully curated bubble, and so much of his identity is tied up with being a Bitcoin maxi, the dissonance creates massive ripples.
It's dissonance or dissolve the bubble, and the ego grasps fast and hard to the dissonant option, such that the false consciousness that hijacked their attention can continue to be.
Apprehension of the truth would be the end of the false consciousness. Like every other living thing, it wants to keep on living, and so it will distort, contort, deflect, deny, neglect, attack, insult, ignore, any and all pieces of evidence that fly concretely against the simple fact that their worldview is untenable and their superficial identify is a ragdoll lie made of clouds.
It's actually kinda entertaining to watch the mental hoops the maxis go through. I do hope most of them eventually grow out of it and have the humility to look back and realize how retarded they were.
So that they never fall into another stupid ego trap like that again, and the world is better for it.
To say nothing of their own lives 😀
How to never correct your own biases and get locked into a circlejerk echo chamber, in one easy step:
His books are worth reading. He's a really smart guy with lots of experience.
But like you, I don't believe or agree with everything he says.
The nuggets are still worth it imo.
Pretty sure most of the "monero whores" are far richer than any of the zealot maxis, since they got into Monero many years ago precisely because of the flaws in Bitcoin privacy, well before most of those maxis got into Bitcoin and turned it into a religion.
Bitcoin maxis are often so close-minded they don't seem to understand this simple fact: #monero people were (and still are) Bitcoiners from a time where most of the zealot bitcoin maxis of today didn't even know about Bitcoin, or had not yet embraced it.
This means that the BTC hodlings of the 'monero whores' ironically tend to be several orders of magnitude higher.
Not that we care per se, but it is interesting to note the attack is always the same: HFSP.
All they care about is NGU. And they say this to people who, in general, are far wealthier than them.
Dogma makes them stupid.

In other words, zealotry no matter the facts.
The party told you to reject the evidence of your eyes and ears. It was their final, most essential command. His heart sank as he thought of the enormous power arrayed against him, the ease with which any Party intellectual would overthrow him in debate, the subtle arguments which he would not be able to understand, much less answer. And yet he was in the right! They were wrong and he was right.
How do the percentages look in terms of volume by the way?
Ah yes, I see what you meant.
Feb '25 it should be, Feb 25 is the day. You see the confusion 😅
Anyway, pretty crazy then, XMR completely dominating.
Remember when people thought Trump would pardon Ross Ulbricht?
It's a very common pattern too.
I don't find it strange that XMR is usually at the top or just right under (and in this example completely dominates, but if I understood correctly, this is for a single day, so it could vary a lot by day), but I find it incredibly puzzingly that seemingly even most bitcoiners don't use Lightning.
As you said, not large sums, so Lightning is the right fit there for at least two good reasons (lower fees, better privacy).
So yeah.. puzzling indeed. Is it possible most of those people paying with Bitcoin just don't realize how exposed they are paying onchain? Or don't care? Or don't know about Lightning?
Just man up bro what are you mysoginistic or something?
(/s if unclear)
I suppose that depends on what you consider the center to be. But that is almost entirely subjective of course.
For my sensibilities (and I have visited many times and have many German friends) it doesn't feel centrish at all, but evidently for you it does, it is what it is, difference of opinion/perspective.
It is rather clear from the outside that the policies in Germany are not centrist at all, but rather, quite leftist.
This easily explains why the "far" right is gaining momentum, things skewed left so hard for so long, equilibrium is trying to reassert itself.
The Tao of the Hodl is attained when you don't even feel it anymore 😁
