Glorious quote .. gotta go to @halvarflake s profile and zap him directly for that one.
How can anyone come to the conclusion that such a list is a net benefit for society?

Is Zeus superior to Phoenix when running one's own node? Afterall Phoenix is kinda about having a (pretty) self custodial wallet without a node, right? Got it, will look into Tailscale, thanks

Is it feasible to have one LN channel to a well-connected node, with transactions managed by the node and my phone/laptop as the 'frontend', whether on the same network or remote?
My setup:
- Umbrel #Bitcoin node on Pi 5 (8GB, 2TB M2 SSD)
- Installed CLN & Electrum Server (no channel yet)
- Using Phoenix wallet (like the single-channel concept)
- Want to take LN payouts from Ocean mining
- Considering 1 channel with Boltz but 0.01 BTC threshold is a bit concerning (not familiar with LN node backups)

It is quite magical how a Raspberry Pi can check the hash, block structure & adherence to consensus rules of blocks that took gigantic amounts of energy to create, all within seconds.

Took around 1 day with a Raspberry Pi 5 8GB & Ethernet .. pretty epic. Thought it would take longer.

How does a #Bitcoin node know how many blocks to expect before validating them, since anyone can publish infinite invalid blocks?

Yeah, I heard that it becomes much slower to the end π₯²

Time to get spiffy rich with my new BitAxe Supra. Just kidding, knew I was gonna mine at a loss but the gloriousness of the occasional LN payouts is worth losing a few cents.

What would be yalls recommended way of setting up a lightning node?
The cheapest & most reliable way to do this is probably getting a good old laptop, right?
But I kinda want to integrate the node into this 3D printed BitAxe stand so I would prefer a Pi or sth like that.
So I wonder: Pi 4, Pi 5, which Pi case, 1 or 2 TB, maybe some LED action or oversized cooling systems?
Any recommendations?

Only thing is that, afaik, the wallets mentioned by OP (WoS or Phoenix) don't support Bolt12... yet.
Got it, thanks, these r just the ones I currently use.
Just got my BitAxe Supra delivered to Germany from nostr:nprofile1qqstrcgctzz2d52thl8r3xwt205pswkauep0yexsla83w3fhrcrpxnqpz9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezuamfdejj70gz936 & it's hashing away nicely. Now I'm wondering if it's possible to mine to a pool (maybe ocean mining) that offers lighting payouts for a tiny amount of Sats? .. prbly should have researched that beforehand π would be epic to receive the occasional few Sats into my WoS or even phoenix wallet. Any suggestions?

I should have specified my priorities.
Important:
- offer low Sat lighting payouts
- not a fronted of Antpool
Little bit important:
- Block template selection (don't mine inscriptions for example)
Unimportant:
- stable payouts
