Hey nostr! I’m a high school science teacher new to nostr, and I want to use the platform to get community feedback on a curriculum that I’m making for teaching AP Environmental Science next semester at a California public high school. My husband is a bitcoiner and encouraged me to start this journey on nostr because I have 5 weeks after the AP test at the end of the semester to teach about any relevant topic that I want. I want to tailor each unit throughout the semester to relate in some way to bitcoin and would like community feedback to help teach the next generation of bitcoiners! I want to start by building out my slide deck for the unit as well as the lesson plans using a decentralized platform if possible. From there I can post links here to get feedback as I design the units. More than anything, the class is about painting a picture of how systems in our environment - both natural and man made - are interconnected. I try to focus a lot on boiling concepts down to first principles to get students thinking critically and engaging in debates in class. Energy transfer through systems is a big topic that ties many of the units together, and ultimately I would like to use bitcoin to help tie these ideas together.

My first question is: if I want to use nostr to build out my slide deck for class to share with you all? Any recommendations on text editing platform for writing lesson plans? Once I’ve built these items out I’ll start sharing links and asking for feedback!

Throwing out my plastic cutting boards and replacing with hardwood.

Was always told plastic is better because you can sanitize in the dishwasher. It seems nobody considered microplastics in food until recently.

Though the worst cutting board I ever had was made of glass.

The LA fires are laying bare the cascading consequences of central planning:

- Promise to take care of the forests but don’t

- Allocate resources to DEI initiatives instead that favor incompetence

- Normalize petty crime while demoralizing law enforcement

- Send all of your water to the ocean to save a fish species

- Insurance providers drop out of market because of increased risk

- Hundreds of billions of dollars of damage that will require a federal bailout

This could be the black swan that incites the next print. If CA gets a bailout all of the states affected by last year’s hurricane will get one too. The slope of the federal debt will steepen at a time when treasury yields are ripping higher. Terrible perfect storm to start 2025.

Praying for everyone who has been affected by this insanity and hope it serves as a lesson in decreasing government at all levels to their smallest viable form.

I know that there are different categories of drinkers out there, but I always get weirded out when someone tells me they drink to get drunk and not for the taste of it.

I like the effects of alcohol, but I primarily drink for flavor. literal galaxies of flavor open up for you when you start pairing food with booze.
