I have a theory that the US hasn't printed new physical bills since 2017.

Let's do a little experiment:

Does anyone here have a US dollar bill of any denomination printed in 2018 or later? Please post a pic of it if you do and I'll zap you 1000 sats.

(Do post one you found online. I will reverse image search)

Is this some sort of cultural thing to not finish the last sip?

I think they stopped printing new USD bills in 2017. I get a lot of cash in tips and I've been checking them for a month and haven't seen one bill printed later than 2017.

Me to the cashier: "Did you know the IMF and World Bank are exploiting the global south with predatory lending that strips them of their natural resources and devalues their labor for the benefit of rich western nations?"

Cashier: "Sir, this is a Wendy's."

Whenever there's a new book I want to read I always check to see if I can borrow it with my library app. If it's a book about Bitcoin or economic issues (of the type us Bitcoiners are interested in anyway) it is never available.

I can forgive Bitcoin books not being available as most of them are very new. I was just recommended a book that came out in 2007 that has 3200 reviews on Amazon about neoliberalism that I would expect to be available in an unbiased library system.

There's a lot of headlines about LGBT books being banned (all part of the media's divisive agenda no doubt), but what about these other books that are effectively shadow banned from libraries? Who is making the decision not to offer them?

I find it hard to believe that a book that's been out for 16 years doesn't have one copy available in the library system of the 8th largest city in America.

That said, I don't hate libraries and I still think they are a net good even if there is some censorship.

I nearly cried reading the forward and after the first chapter I'm already pissed off. So far so good.

I'm sorry I am still trying to deprogram myself from the left wing propaganda I have immersed myself in for years on Reddit.

I'll admit I know very little about the laptop story, but whether it's true or not is irrelevant to my point. What the media chooses to amplify or suppress is part of the manipulation. They are probably all criminals on both sides at those levels of govt, or at least they would be if they weren't the ones writing all the laws for themselves.

I just don't think it's worth worrying about anymore because they will never punish themselves for their crimes, and all fighting about it does is feed into their divisive agenda. I don't think it matters anymore which party is in power at the Federal level because they are all too impotent to make any significant changes.

Bitcoin is a bottom up revolution, so we should be focusing on making progress at the local level first where our votes and our voices are worth a lot more.

As a republican I fought against Trump in the primaries, but held my nose and voted for him in the 2016 general. I was thereafter rather pleased with most of his policies. He spent too much, of course, and ignored the huge problem of entitlement reform. But, overall, his policies were very beneficial.

His performance during Covid was less than stellar. He (and we) would have been better off ditching Fauci and relying on the principles of individual responsibility and freedom. He tried to work against the lockdowns later; but the die had been cast and the democrats were just too focused on keeping everybody masked up and locked down.

Trump lost the election. His ranting and raving after that waas made clear was inexcusable. He single handedly lost the Senate by telling Georgians not to vote. That gave Biden a House and Senate majority with which to keep everyone locked down and spend like a drunken sailor -- driving our current inflation.

What election fraud there was, did not rise to the level of changing the outcome. Trump lost and Biden won. But that does not mean the election was fair.

Due to Covid the election rules were changed in many states, often in violation of those states' laws. Mail in voting and ballot drop boxes were among the issues. Trump, and the republicans, did not respond to this before the fact. This was just laziness, or perhaps overconfidence.

The real rigging of the election was accomplished by Mainstream and Social Media. The suppression of the Hunter Biden Laptop story was crucial. The general suppression of conservatives also played a big role. This was election tampering writ large; and it was largely ignored.

I am on Nostr today because of that.

>Lol it's not about Trump. I'm not even for him but it's about facts or at least suspicions to look into things.

This looks like a summary of right wing media talking points. Some of the criticism is valid, but other things like the HB laptop are pure manipulation. The story wasn't suppressed, it was all over the place on both sides. If you look at the stories it's all about how "forensic experts examined the emails and found..." and it's either something or nothing depending on which way the news outletb leans. They never give you the actual text if the email that could be the "smoking gun". They just tell you it's there and emphasize that nothing is being done about it to whip you into a rage.

And before you get offended the same thing happens constantly in left wing media, especially with regards to Trump's "crimes". Trump stole classified documents, Trump incited the Jan 6 insurrection, Trump committed election fraud by calling the Georgia governor and demanding he find more votes, etc. These things may or may not be true, but the fact that nothing ever happens about them besides the media constantly reporting on it shows it is being used to manipulate and polarize the population. Every week there a story about how the walls are closing in on Trump for his crimes and justice is just around the corner. These stories are the top posts every time on Reddit, which leans heavily left, and have been showing up for years. It's all manipulation to keep the left frothing at the mouth over how backwards their political opponents are and how they will ruin the country and establish a dictatorship if given enough power.

The fact is if we were allowed by the media to have a civil discourse about topics we could probably find a lot more common ground. Instead they trick us into demonizing the other side and falling into petty tribalism. They keep us fighting each other so we are blind to the real enemy if the people, which is the ultra wealthy elites that own everything and contribute nothing significant of value to society to justify their obscene wealth.

Is it possible to permanently disable the Bluetooth on it?

I'm going to start it today. I was already drunk when I posted that and it had just arrived 😂

Yes. In 2016 Trump lost the popular vote, so he was already less popular than Hillary fucking Clinton even before his clown show of a presidency. The way our voting system is set up is decentralized and it would be extremely difficult to commit massive voter fraud on a scale big enough to effect a presidential election and not leave conclusive evidence. I haven't watched it, but I've heard 2000 mules is garbage and plays the same few clips over and over that don't even show anything significant. The whole election fraud thing is another manipulation by the media to keep people distracted and polarized.
