I’m sorry, but I’m not sticking around a platform where people call you spam for being nice to people and censor you too. Since the primal thing I have had many people, who acted nice before to get sats from me call me spam. I would like to thank all the real Frens here who have been very nice to me here. I hope you all are very successful and blessed moving on. I believe nostr to still be a great idea in general.

Hey Light I’m sorry to see you go. I appreciate the sats you gave to me.

Over the past week or so I did sometimes wish that you posted other content besides just about giving or receiving stats as it was kind of an emotional appeal and not always what I wanted to think about.

It even made me feel guilty sometimes for not donating more. And that guilt made me tempted to mute you because I don’t want to feel that when I’m on nostr.

so I’d be interested to see you branch out in what you post about.

At the same time I think you were running a really cool experiment/potentially entrepreneurial adventure and I applaud that.

I hope you will stick around and maybe just interact along a different tact, let’s hear about who you are as a person and what you’re interested in.

Hmm, actually that could probably work. The code for these things is actually really simple.

In fact, right now Vendata allows you to provide as an input text for an LLM.

So you will be able to tell it:

"find people that have few likes but post interesting things about photography"

and literally have that DVM as one of your columns in e.g. primal or snort or something and it would run every X time and provide you with new people to follow

Is it just me or has anyone else had a deep almost spiritual feeling through their life that something BIG is going to happen in our lifetime? I’m not talking about Covid but something truly revolutionary. The pandemic has actually made the feeling more prominent. I’ve had this discussion with a few other friends and it sounds like it’s a reoccurring “gut” feeling.

Do you have this internal feeling?What do you think it could be?

Yes, but also there have been many times in history where societies have had a spiritual revival that sweeps through a culture, country or continent. But that is not a dismissal of what you’re saying.

In my opinion, anytime somebody becomes enlightened, that *is* the big event you’re talking about.

I happen to be a Buddhist, but I think that Christians Muslims and other people reach enlightenment as well. At least some variety of something akin to what I call enlightenment.

some of the Christian mystics in the middle ages like Saint John of the Cross might be good examples of that or the Sufi poet Rumi from Afghanistan.

Many are going through spiritual awakening‘s now.

broad range of algorithms don't centralize among popular accounts, they allow you to very specifically find the type of content you are interested in and your tribe

algorithms have a bad reputation because legacy web needed to have a single generic algorithm that would maximize for revenue and would apply to everybody, they can't give you control over it

and that's how we win

example: let’s say someone follows me just for my memes and doesn’t care when I post news about Ai, Bitcoin, etc. if they wanted to they could choose to not see any of that content, yet still follow me and see the memes only.

Agreed, I like the way you spelled it out and that’s a good example.

If we’re going to build, algorithms, then I would really like to see an algorithm promoted or suggested that promotes smaller accounts looking to engage with people and even steer people towards real life meet ups.

If I have to, I’ll help build it myself one way or another.

Algos are the last thing I want on nostr.

Even with a decent amount of followers, it often feels like I’m shouting into the void. That’s OK, but it’s really going to suck when algos just make popular people more popular.

I suppose algos could be used to boost newbie and mid-level accounts only, but I really doubt that’s what people are going to build or ask for.

I skipped the entire Web 2.0 social media space for the last 10 to 15 years because I didn’t like the things that it incentivizes. I really want to help build real community and empower regular people to have a voice and ideally make real lasting friendships.
