we had terrible onboarding. so bad that we created a manual "suggested users" list, which was effectively king-making. the verified badge followed. all centralized, manual, inherently biased decisions.

search is the only thing that really scaled, and really mattered. more investment in that would have dramatically changed things for the better at Twitter. this is still the case.

the only thing the centralized internet (google, reddit, Facebook, twitter) solved was the discovery problem. solving that for decentralized protocols is a massive win for the free internet.

Outside of a handful, the majority of podcasts are repetitious enough these days that I would rather listen to a bunch of theater nerds play through a long Dungeons and Dragons campaign together than listen to those podcasts.

When the barrier to create is so low there is bound to be a lot more chaff to sift through. Plus you have big players driven by pushing bad podcasts that might feature a one time celebrity. Originality is hard to find in a sea of mediocrity.

Every year from Thanksgiving to New Years I pick a project to do in order to keep busy over the holidays. This year I am setting up a Part 15 (US FCC Rules) AM radio station that will also stream online via audio and video streams. It will be powered by all Open Source software: Libre Time, OBS, and Open Streaming Platform. The AM transmitter is low power and will cover 1-2 mile radius around me. Which is around 45k potential listeners. Will be looking for Bitcoin PSAs soon as well as posting details. 🤙

Relay operator using #cloudflare proxy, please do this to let people connect to your relay over #Tor.

Go to your site settings

Click in "security" -> "WAF" -> "Create Rule"

Fill the fields like this:

Field: Country

Operator: equals

Value: Tor

Action: Skip

Scroll a little and click in "more components to skip" and select "Security level".
