Money market funds are only good for short term. Like if you need the money next year, you can put them in a MMF and get some interest. They buy bonds with your money and give you some of the interest, but you can withdraw at any time without having to worry about market prices.
Long term, it's better to buy bonds yourself and get the entire interest.

An appreciating currency makes consumption less desirable. Right now, we anticipate great returns so our appetite for consumption is way low.
The more Bitcoin matures, the easier it will be to outperform. Eventually it's value will reflect the size of the economy. Increase in value when stretched across a larger economy, decrease when economy contracts.
Consumption will still be different, quality > quantity, larger and more thought out projects, etc. but mud hutting won't do anyone any good. Go out there and be productive, invest in yourself, outperform Bitcoin.
