Just tried this for my "breakfast”, missed the paper towel part, still pretty good.

My son spilled the beans! About a quarter of the peanut butter jar they were stored in, so I guess we have a new garden bed and I have that much less to mow. 😂

I don't have a single area but anytime I see a volunteer, I just put a tomato cage around it and see what happens. Unfortunately my kids usually kill them one way or another. I did have one pepper that managed to fruit, it was really sweet but I wasn't able get the seeds to germinate.

Didn't think of that, but based on how the chickens hit'em I'm not surprised.

Had to remove a wasp nest from my kid's playhouse. The larvae were still alive but Mama wasp was not around. Anyway, I thought it was pretty neat to see and thought y'all might also.

They are a different, long form is a event kind 30023. In addition to the markdown, they are editable and can have metadata such as a title and summary. You can also create a kind 30024 which is a draft of a long form article. They are meant to be distinct from kind 1 (short notes) events.

Yep, can confirm they're definitely sweeter than candy. My kids love them. I guess I'll have to take Nick Ferguson's course.

These are mulberries from my backyard as far as I know only red mulberries grow here, but as you can see these are white. Does anyone out there know if these are white mulberries growing in Kansas or are they some kind of albino red mulberry or perhaps a hybrid. It's growing between the fences so I'm pretty sure it was planted by a bird or opossum.

Well...
You can build your own start9 server on a pi 4. From there you can install nostr and run a relay.
https://docs.start9.com/latest/diy/diy-pi
I haven't actually done this yet. It's on my schedule for August
I'm not sure where I'd get a pi 4 for the money I want to spend. I wonder if it'd work with a pi 3.
My son was frustrated with me for not cutting the grass, so he decided to take matters into his own hands.

He very quickly determined that scissors were too slow.

I gave him the weed eater so he could pretend but then he figured out the trigger lock. He's 4, Heaven help me.

I don't think this a rock solid argument against electric vehicles, too much sleight of hand for how the charging would happen, and most people can't math anyway. Also, despite what the GOV mandates there's no way to increase supply of batteries to get to 15% anytime soon, so the counterpoint could argue, "We'll build the infrastructure as needed"
If pressed to argue for electric my response would be something like;
"My phone charges slower at night to increase battery longevity, it can be turned off if you need to but that's the factory default. Most people are too afraid of bricking their phones, let alone their car, to touch any settings. Why couldn't the automakers just build that into the charging software. Shit, they'd probably market it as a feature, 'Enter your commute time so we can ensure your vehicle is fully charged'."
I'm not sure of the actual numbers but I'd guess that it still creates a massive demand for power at night, that would necessitate keeping peaker plants on longer than designed and ultimately shorten their lifespan. But you know how well disposed the general public is to nuance. Besides they'll just adjust charging priority based on your social credit score with an additional weighting for "necessary personnel"

Tried my hand at grilling on a flat top. It's not a Blackstone but a lot cheaper and does the trick. Beef from my sister's ranch in Haskell, OK. Mostly grass fed, they had to supplement a little due to the drought but still better than grocery store beef.
