It just follows your language preferences in your iOS settings. As with any other app.

Google Fi is still the best plan for people who travel internationally, don’t want to change SIM cards, and don’t want to be charged an arm and a leg. Works well enough for me.

I’ll change Damus to not auto-translate if you’re the author so that it’s less annoying when it guesses the language incorrectly.

Do you have any suggestions on how improvements can be made so that Damus auto translations doesn’t use up all of your quota?
Testing zap localization fixes and realized that I created a dystopia for myself by myself. 
Not to my knowledge. If you tap Replying to, you can modify who you reply to. But you can’t remove yourself.
The fix might be to modify follows or relays in a different client like snort.social? And then come back to Damus.
For reference, that’s what I did when I mined my wife’s pubkey before she could use Damus.
I don’t know if you can remove yourself from a thread, but muting threads on Damus client side is on my todo list.
