Yes, I suppose Edit would have been easier if that’s what you’re getting at. At this point, I think Nos supports Delete but not Edit.
Ah, yeah, I suppose that’s true. Apple doesn’t always act in a way that’s consistent with what they say.
Is this about the fact that they include that switch, or that it’s on by default, or something else? I’d be interested to see what that looks like on other hardware… do other companies even give you an option?
Speaking of delete… I had to use it on the first version of this post since I forgot to include the link. See how useful it is? 😂
“Nostr has delete, and it works, but it's more about expressing a user's intention than tech which can provably eliminate the existence of their content. We need to tell users this, and add delete request functionality to our apps.”
100% agree. Let’s get all Nostr apps to support delete!
oh, and I like this page, too — I think it’s a nice simple explanation of how things work: https://nostr.how/en/get-started
This overview of what it is and how to get started by nostr:npub1w9wuqc3s6lr25c4sgj52werj3tngvt43qrccqrher4wvn7tjm32s2ck403 is really good: https://wedistribute.org/2024/05/nostr-crash-course/
If you haven’t installed it yet, here’s the link to join the beta on TestFlight: https://nos.social/install
It’s been especially fun working on the Discover tab in Nos to feature creators and journalists. Check it out and find new people to follow!

I love my Ergodox EZ, too. Recently I’d been having issues where I’d get double letters while typing. Like when I type a single “h” I’d get two of them. I was worried I’d need to replace the keyboard, but found out that the issue might just be in the key switch. I replaced the key switch (which was super easy) and boom 💥 everything works perfectly again! Highly recommended if you use a computer several hours a day and want to avoid wrist pain.
I think the thing I’m most happy about from Apple’s iPad event is that they moved the front camera to the landscape side. I was always slightly annoyed on video calls that my camera was off to the side rather than right in front of me.
A few weeks ago I posted this: nostr:note1ws0hzrs4jzfn33s23mp6rrpw2uk6cnhq9ww2l0303hcw3ffet9hsg98lz5 which was a friend’s crowdfunding campaign to get their family out of Gaza. Some of that money has been to used to get Hayat and her kids out, so 7 of them are now safe. Thanks in part to people who stepped up and donated via zaps on here. There’s still more family members to get out, but at least these kids will live and are safe.

Some people have asked who they’re paying money to. It’s a semi-offical egyptian government ‘tourism’ agency that charges Gazans to leave. Before the war it was $350 per adult and now it’s $5000 USD per adult and $2500 per child.

Hope the rest of the family can all get out safely.
The Apple homepage is fun this morning — you can erase the Apple logo by hovering over it with your mouse/trackpad on Mac or swipe across it with your finger on iPhone/iPad.
And of course they’re announcing new iPads today — should be a fun event!
