Working for free isn’t really sustainable 🙂

I use the following 🤙

eden.nostr.land (5K sats)

nostr.milou.lol (1K sats)

#[3]

See if these diagrams help!

The benefit of a paid relay is that it puts a monetary burden (expense) on accounts that join thereby greatly reducing the incentive to spam. Increases signal 😄

Downloading Damus and seeing how people can post freely and send/receive sats through lightning would be a good start. Showing public key and private key management instead of username and password, etc.

I would assume they should be low cost and be low spec. Relays really shouldn’t need to be robust because that leads to centralization. The heavy lifting should happen higher up on the client side or at least in how relays interact with each other so it’s not hardware intensive.

Further decentralization. Running a relay must be accesible to all.

A miner pool, Luxor, used the resources of the combined miners to mine a block of 4MB that had an image (aka an ordinal). Controversy then followed as people have different viewpoints on the topic.

Found through nostr.watch 🤙

I connected to a relay in Kenya and Hong Kong yesterday if you’re interested in knowing which ones those are. Haven’t noticed a difference in global yet 🤔

You could add another layer by saying filter posts by some combination of # of tippers and # of sats zapped where the relays charge entry per user and/or cap the amount that can be zapped per post thereby completely slanting the system of incentives against bots.

Thanks for the insight folks! I also just bought some ghee yesterday to sauté at higher temp, worked great. Might pop back in with more questions down the road 🫡
