Completely opposite systems

People who come into Bitcoin that did well in the dollar system don't get how bad the fiat system is for most of us and how badly we want to crush it, not just get rich.

Modern Prometheus:

Setting up a lightning node within a Linux OS. Once the node is up and running, the system crashes for an unknown reason. You only have Linux forums for research and the same five mods to ask. Once you managed to restore the system, the node throws errors. Channels force closed, not syncing. As soon as you have fixed the node, the Linux crashes again. Repeat for eternity 🔁

That's what you get for stealing back your integrity from the Gods of banking and technology.

nostr suddenly feels a lot deeper and a bit broader

New learnings from yesterday's release that I had never considered.

Receiving an edit proposal creates some interesting dynamics:

- If you were ignorant and used a less precise way to argue your point, an expert can quickly fix it for you. This is educational to the author.

- Grammar nazi's can now be happy without adopting a combative reply. Everyone loves getting their typos quickly fixed by somebody else who can just write better.

- If you are using inflammatory language just to get clicks, somebody tones it down in an edit and you reject it, it sends a clear signal that you are here for the clicks and not for the discussion/debate. People can now choose to walk away from profiles that are only here to troll.

Freerse is not as good as amethyst in this regard, and amethyst is a very fast client with powerful functions.

#nostr needs to get rid of likes/reactions and completely replace them with zaps.

It doesn't really make sense to have a separate device like an old laptop, raspberry pi, or mini-server just to run a #bitcoin node. I can just run the node directly on my personal laptop.

🔸 It's pretty much almost always on.

🔸 It has much better performance, allowing for quick syncing of the blocks.

🔸 I can bring it along wherever I go, always ready with a battery backup.

🔸 I can connect to any Wi-Fi network or use my data plan instead of being limited to a cable connected to an ISP router, which I can't access when I'm outside unless I expose the network.

🔸 It's completely ubiquitous, widely available with no supply issues and no client lists.

🔸 I trust the security of my Linux system and my opsec more than the unstable buggy mess of UmbrelOS.

🔸 It's one less device to worry about, maintain, and keep secure.

Before anyone jumps in, let me clarify that I'm referring to a Bitcoin full node, not a Lightning node.
