A faithful, regenerative homestead living the dream on Tennessee's Cumberland Plateau.

Our sheep love snacking on pine needles.

My guys were clearing some woods for a fence line, and removed many small pine trees in the process.

My flock will enjoy the pine boughs during this coming wintery week.

Wow! I feel like a wimp. We are bracing for the freeze, but nothing below zero here in Tennessee.

Well, this makes the drive home interesting.

Came upon this soon after strong winds knocked it down.

Fortunately our farm is just down the road. Quick call to husband to bring the chain saw, some helping hands and half the road is cleared so cars can pass.

In addition to proposing a new NIP, I also built a new fence for nostr:npub19sjwrt6hr76velk28xqkf8qmp8rftnvrky5hp84nksw84559fzvsq7ccqn's (Mom's) garden.

Laying foundations.

I think everyone should grow something. Most people have no idea what it takes to go from seed to harvest.

I would be very sad without sun. We are expecting some very cold weather next week. Preparing for it.

Tennessee. The Cumberland Plateau. It is a beautiful place.

Frosty morning as I walked the dog.

The morning sun on our barn was stunning.

When I tell normies we butcher our own animals a common response is:

I could never do that.

We had "never down that" until we made a choice two years ago.

A choice to have more control over our food supply.

A choice to raise the healthiest food possible.

A choice to give our animals a good life.

And now we do it.

One of the best choices we have made.
