Grab an app line Gaia GPS or my tool of choice, Avenza. You can download maps for offline use and venture away from cell service.
That would be maps like USGS Quadrangles and USFS National Forest maps. The forest service maps tend to have said 'recreation' data like campgrounds and trailheads. The quad maps will be at smaller scale, like 1:24000), and have more topographical detail that you can use to find peaks, valleys and wet areas.
What part of the world are you in? I grab a recreation map and look for places in my region that are the furthest away from population densities, and have water + elevation.

Certainly understandable ๐
Dirt Forester here. I'm fortunate to take care of the woods I grew up in. Nearing my RPF license soon. It's my life's goal. And 1 BTC.

You have landed.
Summer backpacking season is winding down. Looking forward to snow as an excuse to go full degen and build/deploy first #nostr relay, LN and BTC nodes.
