unpopular opinion:

decentralized "credit" scores are inevitable.

and it will be epic, because it will scale Dunbars number to the whole planet.

and it will solve all the sybill attacks, spam, impersonation, advertisement and noise problems.

same here.

nostr key management will likely become a bigger topic in the months to come

not your keys, not your identity.

...I am pretty sure there will be ways to backup/ migrate keys in the future though. has to be possible, I can feel it.

yeah, that's a great question! in my experience internal/ external are so interdependent, that I'd say there is no thinking, that is "truly mine".

what's mine though is the unique combination of influences.

and being aware of that let's me choose those influences more consciously.

hey nostr:npub1l5pxvjzhw77h86tu0sml2gxg8jpwxch7fsj6d05n7vuqpq75v34syk4q0n would it be possible to print a frame like this to clip onto sunglasses? I think this actually looks pretty dope (maybe in black or gray aswell)

Putting on my conspiracy hat for this one.

About 8 years ago I really started getting into the “personal growth” mindset. I consumed countless books, articles, and podcasts. I am still focusing on growth and improving myself: learning, eating healthy, working out, and stacking sats (the newest habit). Last week I was talking to my cousins about dating and marriage. One of them said "I can only be with someone that is focusing on bettering herself every day, I’m not interested in being with a bum.” He is 15 years old! I was shocked because what he said did not align with his personality at all. All he does is play video games and scroll TikTok, so who planted that seed in his head and made it so firm? TikTok? YouTube? Andrew Tate? I don’t doubt there is value in having a mindset focused on growth, but is it something that we personally choose or is there an advanced algorithm influencing us toward that?

If it is an algorithm, then could the growth mindset just be a psyop to motivate everyone to continue participating in the rat race? People with a growth mindset tend to take full responsibility of their lives but that requires you to somewhat dismiss the problems government and fiat money has created. The previous generation was about picking yourself up from your bootstraps. This generation sounds a little more enlightened and sophisticated: be the best version of yourself. Both mentalities accomplish the same thing by convincing you to just focus on yourself and work harder so you don’t notice the corrupt financial system that is stealing your wealth.

The other possibility is that people may just gravitate toward the platforms that resonate with them most and the platforms are just responding to market demands. For example, I’ve noticed that different personalities tend to spend more time on platforms that are similar to their preferences.

Generally, people are more:

Sensationalistic on instagram

Conservative on gab

Conspiracy focused on 4chan

Antagonistic on twitter

Freedom oriented on nostr

Regardless of the answer, it is concerning that humans are easily influenced by the content they consume. “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with,” and I would add that you are also the average of the content platforms you spend the most time consuming. I hope these thoughts help you better choose where you direct your attention.

there are definitely corrupted fiat versions of personal development, but many people who take that path seriously get closer to Bitcoin by the day.

-how do mafia structures gain/sustain most of their power?

--often by bribing government agents to stay out of their way

--often they are also in cooperation with government agencies

--by not existing in a free market for security, where they would have to survive against !competing! armed security businesses,

---which would be impossible to survive against, because people would be able to spend way more sats on security than now with all the money going to waste via taxation

I can recommend books like "Everyday Anarchy" by Stefan Molyneux, or "The Order of Freedom" by Oliver Janich. They go very deep on the free market dynamics of security, insurance and law in the absence of government.

interesting definition you picked, while almost all definitions include organized crime.

no surprise, as the term originates from an organized crime syndicate in Italy that called them selfes "the mafia".

imo, more important than definitions though, is to look at the core principles behind the phenomenon:

-what is the most characterisic crime by mafia structures?

--protection racket

---what is almost the same and antithetical to Bitcoin? -> taxation

-how do mafia structures gain/sustain most of their power?

--often by bribing government agents to look away

--often they are in cooperation with secret government agencies

--by not existing in a free market for security, where they would have to deal with !competing!, armed security businesses,

---which would be impossible to survive against, because people would be able to spend way more sats on security than now with all the money going to waste via taxation

I get it, you want Bitcoiners to be "closely connected and having great power", and I am 100% sure we will be, but by creating value not by violence. Do you understand my pov, why mafia might not the best term for describing the ideal Bitcoin community?

I've often read others wonder about this.

unfortunately there is not much resource out there on relay management.

but this might be starting to change, latest episode of nostr:npub1h8nk2346qezka5cpm8jjh3yl5j88pf4ly2ptu7s6uu55wcfqy0wq36rpev and nostr:npub1l2vyh47mk2p0qlsku7hg0vn29faehy9hy34ygaclpn66ukqp3afqutajft had some interesting interesting nunaces on how relays work and how we better structure/ choose them.

but I am still missing a comprehensive guide to the whole structure and dynamics of relays in the system.

in my experience anxiety is rooted in fiat/ oppression.

start: fiat

-> hamsterwheel + environment of ever higher stressors

-> disregulated nervous systems of parents

-> not enough co-regulation capacity (+time) for children

-> childrens nervous systems don't develop enough to deal with higher stressors

-> reaching stresslevel threshold later in life

-> regular panic attacks and full buffet of anxiety symptoms

if according to Taleb we already are a cartel, we might be close to becoming a mafia aswell ;)

jokes aside, anyone thinking Bitcoiners should/ could become a mafia, did not understand the principles of Bitcoin
