Later this morning Jason Maier and I will be recording an ep for nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld with David Bailey, CEO of Bitcoin Magazine, about Donald Trump, Bitcoin adoption, and beyond in a respectable and constructive conversation 🤝 🧡
Multiple viewpoints from passionate bitcoiners.
What questions do you have? 👀
Having talked to Trump and his team directly, does he have any insight on why Trump would prioritize following through on his Bitcoin campaign promises when he isn't running for another term (future donations from the crypto lobby are moot) and he has previously stated that Bitcoin hurts the dollar (which it does).

Proof of hike 😎

💯 it's only $60... If you get Mediterranean you can put hotels for $500
That's because your content is actually high quality and Dan Held's isn't... He needs the performance enhancement of the algos.

After Thursday’s presidential debate, I have a tough time relating to or wanting to be a part of any politics. I’ve been feeling this for quite some time and haven’t really supported any political candidate from either party since 2016. I sure as hell won’t support Donal Trump, I’d like Biden to step down, the DNC is corrupt, and the progressive wing of the Democratic Party is a laughable sideshow that’s ineffective and grasping for relevance.
I am left leaning ideologically and politically, and obviously while I’m feeling this and running nostr:npub1fpcd25q2zg09rp65fglxuhp0acws5qlphpg88un7mdcskygdvgyqfv4sld I can have mixed feelings about the title/brand. Can the progressive bitcoiner take on and be an identity of its own, calling those to embrace a new “progressive,” forward thinking view with Bitcoin? I don’t know, but many on the left are still absolutely repulsed by bitcoin and closed off based on tribal, group think. It’s disappointing to say the least. Is the title or risk of distraction worth it, considering the normie left isn’t tuning in as I desired anyway?
Bitcoin is millions of miles above this silly politicking and left/right divide. It is so much bigger, and more important, than all of this. My hope with the pod is that it has presented diverse content and helped people feel seen and heard that don’t typically resonate with the right/libertarian dominate crowd in bitcoin, not to divide.
My feelings on all of this may lead to a rebrand of the pod (removing political labels). It may not. I want to be very intentional either way, and my focus remains the same of wanting to highlight what I think are the most import things in bitcoin: human rights, mining and the environment, social justice, basic tech understandings, Bitcoin for everyone and global freedom money, etc.
"Progressivism is a political philosophy and movement that seeks to advance the human condition through social reform – primarily based on purported advancements in social organization, science, and technology."
This definition has literally nothing in common with the DNC.
Maybe a title that focuses on what progressive bitcoiners actually want without the political implications of the term "progressive"
Advancing the Human Condition
Empowerment with Bitcoin
Elevating Humanity
Keep pushing, you are doing great work!

I know right, that interview was amazing! I feel so bad for him. 🙏
I hadn't made this connection yet, but I should have😬
I always liked this version:
Welcome to Nostr, where the follower count is made up and the likes don't matter 🙂

Regardless of what does or does not change about the grant process, this does a great job of articulating some of the biggest problems.
We'll said 👍
We can hope 🙏
Everyone is too focused on life on earth. Life on earth is just the beginning of an eternal existence.
Life in heaven will be perfect. Life on earth is for separating the wheat from the chaff and is not supposed to be perfect.

The way that racism is defined and discussed has changed dramatically over the last 20 years and I honestly think it has been to the detriment to all cultures that have historically been victims of legitimate negative actions because of their race.
Everyone in the world is constantly making judgement calls about the world and other people they encounter. When I don't know someone, I absolutely make guesses about them until I get to know them better.
If I was ever walking through a high crime area and I saw a group of young men with face tattoos, I'm going to assume that they are potentially dangerous. I don't know that for sure, but it's going to be my going in assumption.
According to some definitions of racism, simply being white makes me, by definition, racist because I have had an inherent advantage in life based on my race. I get that that is a thing, and I don't even necessarily disagree, but how does that make me a racist?
These types of definitions make everyone a racist, and a sexist, and an ageist. And when everyone is a racist, it gives cover for people who are actually discriminating based on race. The definition of racism has experienced massive inflation over the last couple of decades.
Racism is not the only example of definitions that have experienced inflation. Language and definitions are critical for people to be able to communicate and understand each other. After we fix the money, I hope that society can get back to a more stable set of definitions that we all agree to use.
Yea I always thought that little stick they wave around looked like a magic wand 😂
