Nice to have a bitcoiner on my team too ๐Ÿ˜Ž

First and foremost, I am extremely grateful for this service.

I currently pay for the "Professional" Plan for my personal nPub and the "Creator" Plan for nostr:nprofile1qqsvh2svs20dxgkp25wtvcvmfsytngn2e9llkn54jgz7a3uwaycny3gpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszxthwden5te0dehhxarj9e4h2mn8ve6j6eewwf5hqtcpr9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucn0denkymmwvuhxxmmd9uua69zy.

If I upload media directly to nostr.build, but do not post a note with the link to an image/video/etc. then can those images be seen/found by users?

I would like to upload images for nostr:nprofile1qqsvh2svs20dxgkp25wtvcvmfsytngn2e9llkn54jgz7a3uwaycny3gpz4mhxue69uhhyetvv9ujuerpd46hxtnfduhszxthwden5te0dehhxarj9e4h2mn8ve6j6eewwf5hqtcpr9mhxue69uhkummnw3ezucn0denkymmwvuhxxmmd9uua69zy ahead of time to prepare notes in advance of my posting schedule, but want to make sure they can't be leaked ahead of that schedule.

I don't know but have wondered the same thing

I normally try my best to dance around the crazy stuff, but I will let it rip every once in a while haha.

Once after spending a bunch of time with my father trying to show him that Bitcoin isn't just for NgU but is a moral imperative. He kept not getting it so right as I was leaving I said, "Look, when you store your wealth in the current financial system you are literally handing it straight to Satan. In Bitcoin your wealth is only controlled by you."

Sometimes it's better to just slap them in the face with the truth, right? ๐Ÿ˜Ž

That's crazy. You probably also think that eventually everyone will use TCP/IP. Protocols can't beat centralized walled gardens.

GM #nostr - had a minor boating accident this morning ๐ŸŒ„ ๐Ÿ˜ณ

So my girl has a permanent mooring that belongs to me, a swing mooring. It's a great spot for her to sit.

On one side, closest the beach, there's a gravel path that you can follow down to her without getting too sandy/muddy.

On the far side of the mooring there's no gravel path, just mud. Deep black horrible mud. At some points it's a foot deep, at others 3ft. Who knows which bits which, it gets covered over every tide and it's pure guesswork.

So, this morning, there being an east wind, she landed in the deep shit stuff, about 15ft out from the safety of the mooring block.

It's also a bit stormy.

So, anyway, the scene being set, we'll begin the adventure. I claimed out, across the cabin, saw the state of things and prepped myself. I climbed down, squelching into the shit stuff, only shin deep so far, no drama.

I grabbed my bag and turned but the mud had caught my foot. I pulled and my foot came loose, minus my waders boot. As I spun back to put my foot right, I fell, into the mud!

Not to worry, thought I. I got my shit together and made my way to shore. Upon checking my pockets I realised my laser etched metal wallet containing my most valuable private keys was missing and it suddenly struck me; I'd caught a glimmer in my eye back by the boat...

It fell out, as I was struggling to free myself. I walked back down, but there was no sign of it, the mud had claimed it for itself.

And so, yet again I must start from scratch, knowing my wallet is buried forever, somewhere beneath my boat ๐Ÿ˜ซ๐Ÿ˜ฎ๐Ÿ˜ข

One day I'll be able to save some sats, I hope...

Terrible news. Seems like every time a bitcoiner encounters a boat they always think to bring the only copy of their seed phrase.

Boating safety should include leaving your seed phrase in a safe place on land.

Also, multisig fixes this.

Bitcoin is everything you don't understand about cryptography, combined with everything you don't understand about money, combined with everything you don't understand about energy, combined with everything you don't understand about exponentials, combined with everything you don't understand about philosophy, combined with everything you don't understand about global liquidity, combined with everything you don't understand about geopolitics, combined with everything you don't understand about physical security, combined with everything you don't understand about...

What else?

Missed Opportunity: A Lunch Date in Florida

As I sit down to write this #Nostr note, I can't help but think about the missed opportunity that was my lunch date just a few hours ago. Florida the Sunshine State has its charms, but for someone like me who lives in Pennsylvania, it's not an ideal place to call home - at least, not permanently.

My mom moved to Florida from New York some 30 years ago and due to recent decline in her health, I've been staying with her to help manage her care. It's a taxing situation, but one that requires my presence. Amidst the chaos of caregiving, I had the opportunity to go on a lunch date with a woman I met through our shared love for Cane Corsos.

Our initial interactions were centered around our dogs and their playdates, which was all about the canines' wellbeing. It wasn't until this particular lunch date that we finally got a chance to focus solely on each other. No mom, no dog and no cell phones.

The conversation flowed easily, the venue was delightful, and the weather was perfect for a post-lunch walk on the beach, which we did. Oh and found a cool beach spot that I can bring the dogstr to in Deerfield Beach. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿฝ

I digress....

So why did I feel like I had missed an opportunity? As I reflected on our conversation during my drive home, it dawned on me that I might have unintentionally given off the wrong impression. Here's how my thoughts went:

"I'm over 50 years old and live with my mom."

"I don't have a 'real' job - at least, not in the traditional sense."

"I can't wait to get back home (to Pennsylvania) and leave this place."

It's not that I'm ashamed of these facts; they simply aren't the most appealing aspects of myself. And while our conversation was engaging and enjoyable, I couldn't shake the feeling that my circumstances may have overshadowed any other potential connections.

As someone who values authenticity, I know that honesty is crucial in relationships - be it romantic or platonic. But sometimes, there's a fine line between being honest and oversharing. In this instance, I wonder if I inadvertently steered the conversation towards my caregiving role and life circumstances, thus creating an impression that wasn't entirely accurate.

In retrospect, I realize that I should have focused more on our shared interests, like our love for Cane Corsos and Florida's beautiful beaches. Instead, I allowed my current reality to take center stage, potentially scaring off any romantic prospects before they even had a chance to develop.

So, what can we learn from this missed opportunity? For one, it's essential to strike a balance between being open and honest with others while still presenting the best version of ourselves. A thing I know, but hadn't really thought of our lunch as a date, until was basically on my way home after our date.

And for those of us that find ourselves in unconventional or challenging circumstances, like caregiving, it's crucial to remember that our lives are multifaceted - and so are our interests.

In the end, I hope this experience serves as a reminder to be more mindful of how we present ourselves to others and to seek out meaningful connections that bring joy to both parties involved. After all, life is too short for missed opportunities - especially in a state like Florida where the sun always shines.

This may all be a manifestation on my mind. My brain does these mental gymnastics sometimes and it's usually unwarranted. So maybe my post mortem assessment is entirely off. We'll see where it goes from here.

#TheEnd

Hey, if you made it this far, thank you fren. This was longer than my usual #Nostr notes, so I appreciate your time.

#RandomBrainRants

Presenting yourself as honestly and truthfully as possible will probably be a good thing on the whole. Like you probably are spending a lot of mental time on those things and if someone takes you at just this one data point, maybe it's for the best.

If you see her again make a joke out of it ๐Ÿ™‚

Good luck ๐Ÿ™

I also recently discovered her show and I've been mostly impressed. Haven't heard her mention Bitcoin yet, but I assume she wouldn't be against it at least.

Fantasy football draft tonight. Not super excited.

Different books depending on the initial lens people are coming at it from. But lately I've recommend one of these:

Bitcoin Standard

Gradually then Suddenly

The Bullish Case for Bitcoin

A Progressives Case for Bitcoin

The Fiat Standard

What shelf would you put a book on Bitcoin and psychedelics ๐Ÿ˜

Bitcoin is going to advance the ball forward for the entire field of cryptography. It's so cool to me that because money can now be fundamentally protected by cryptography all sorts of new hardware and software are being engineered with security as the highest priority.
