I made damus, npubs, and zaps ⚡️ Independent bitcoin core and lightning dev.

This is what the first version of onlyzaps was. There was a huge backlash and people were saying i’m taking away their freedom to react. I was like… whats the point of reacting if they can’t see your reaction. They said it was for other people and for themselves, so i restored it. People really don’t like when you take away a capability

nostr:npub13v47pg9dxjq96an8jfev9znhm0k7ntwtlh9y335paj9kyjsjpznqzzl3l8 we should publish the ridiculous back and forth we had for this review cycle. Starting an Apple review wall of shame blog

Well sleep, vitamin d and exercise. Basic stuff

#onlyzaps adds friction to effortless interactions. this is actually a *good* thing. there's nothing wrong with clients avoiding effortless reactions alltogether.

so far non-quote reposts and reactions are on my "i will get to them eventually but it's not a priority, because it currently *feels* better when I'm using a client without them".

yes its opinionated... yes its less capability than other clients, but sometimes taking things away makes it better as a whole.

i'd say its less of a concern these days with 100s of nostr clients that all have reactions

not this again 😂

might implement zaps first on notedeck and just not have reactions for awhile... #onlyzaps for life.

work smarter not harder

adding voice-to-text and phone tools so that goose can auto-schedule date nights to keep the mrs happy

they got about ~1.6 million from the government I think. not as bad as in canada where the CBC receives over a billion. what's bizarre is that you guys seem to be funding the BBC as well??

adding middle click to open a new column today (users, hashtags, etc). seems like a natural move

On both using I’m free nostr:npub1nxy4qpqnld6kmpphjykvx2lqwvxmuxluddwjamm4nc29ds3elyzsm5avr7

I’ve noticed other instances of this happening as well what gives??? nostr:note1xv9u5g9pp8mjqendwgc99n8h0nw683k7ujd3hgn73w3wgqqxnn3qncj4v9

maybe temporary connection issues?

It’s crazy that apps are built this way. Silos that try their best to sync with each other and their proprietary formats (badly). github -> linear -> morgen. If one of these apps cuts off its integration or goes out of business there goes your entire workflow.

nostr is a different way to build interoperable apps. If we had project management clients on nostr, they could just work together automatically with no syncing required.

The PM apps would all understand the same issues and tickets regardless of if it was github project, gitlab or jira. They could all read from the same data source or sync with each other extremely efficiently with negentropy.

Not only would they work together; they would continue working together, *forever*. That’s the power of building on open protocols. This is the future we are building. nostr:note14yzhpgp8yay2wclevd99agx7xawt0akeaqzd2n7zgr474xvt3fasjqfl36

Inspired by nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s ’s effort on Notedeck and many more other advancements and effort in native development, client software and AI, I am hacking a local LLM software with Egui and Ollama.

3 goals:

1. Learn Rust

2. Learn Egui

3. Learn AI from an infrastructure level (compilation, models, GPUs)

I don’t have Nostr in mind for this software. But who knows.

awesome

nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s Why doesn’t “Clear Cache” clear the cache?

its clears media cache not DB yet

Pretty impressed with https://linear.app so far. Performance is very fast. auto-imports from github which makes managing all of the damus issues a breeze. Even supports pull requests. Much easier to manage issues across teams and projects than github. Timeblocking calendar integration in morgen is a bonus.
