I use https://tabby.sh
sorry, but now you’re fully trolling, aren’t you?
in the extension just connect any wallet you want.
the hub you can also just install anywhere you want.
IF you want an alby ACCOUNT then you need an email, but why would you want an account if you don’t want to provide such information?!
just use it the way somebody would use it who does not want provide any data! many do.
did you even use it? check out the individual tools.
no signup is required.
but I let you troll now. 👋
Tor should not matter here.
for routing the main important point is the channel and liquidity.
Olympus is good. what amounts did you try to send. maybe also ping Olympus with the issue.
Initial Q is about Nostr zapping.
nostr:npub1dgpt04w4c88wc0g262xaw8zvlm4mvwtmjhl0tn2sxtyjywsn6q4qt8ka3a asked about how to incentivise people to zap more. imo first is the liquidity. If you have sats scattered across different hot wallets, it would be nice for a Nostr client to do that seamlessly. Today as far as I know, and I use it, Alby allows to connect multiple wallets to make that onramp/aggregator across wallets possible.
Am still in new on Nostr and using Alby, so any clarification will be appreciated.
At Alby we believe that sats should be ideally at one wallet that then can be connected to different apps and used in different use cases. For example to zap, or in podcast player, or on the go with a mobile wallet.
With that the onramp should become easier as you only have to do that once for all apps. We build the Alby Hub for that as a wallet.
And I agree the most complicated thing is still to get the first money into lightning.
why do you need/use a thirdparty if you don't want it? I don't think it is needed, is it?
Yes, I think they're tied to separate Lightning accounts, but anything else would make it even more confusing I guess.
nostr:npub1xv8mzscll8vvy5rsdw7dcqtd2j268a6yupr6gzqh86f2ulhy9kkqmclk3x By the way, there's a small UI bug: when you switch accounts, it doesn't immediately update the npub that you can copy from the nostr icon...
I think the main confusion is because the extension always needs some sort of lightning "wallet" and that then can have a local key that is used for nostr. (and keys are only locally stored and a wallet is always some remote wallet)
this means you can add the same wallet to the extension and use this same wallet with different keys.
you don't need to create a different alby accounts or different wallets.
nostr:npub1raustrrh5gjwt03zdj8syn9vmt2dwsv9t467m8c3gua636uxu89svgdees I will pass it on.
use the Alby extension first before and go troll somewhere else.
what KYC crap?
you can add whatever you want (LND, NWC, CLN, …) also multiple times the same, it just needs to be a lightning wallet
huch?! in alby you have multiple since day one. what are you missing?
there is a bit of a storage limit by the browser above 5ish but that should be mostly not a problem, is it?
likely there was a timeout error which caused some strange behavior. can you send me the account you use?
lets look together. that sounds interesting.
what browser do you use?
would you be up for a screensharing debugging session?
then you’re already good.
sounds like you connected the alby account to your hub and the sats are on your hub.
where are you told to migrate?
yes, it’s a long way… a marathon not a sprit. but we’re all on that one and not in it for the quick win.
how should alby support ecash?
It has a similar problem as one is not in control over the sats and mints at a certain scale will have issues. (which is my main worry)
the extension just has your keys. it’s the clients like primal.net nostrudel, etc. that have the logic and manage follow, profile, etc.
so it’s likely in one of those or the relays something is up.
which is fine, isn’t it?
it gets easier, thus the barrier of entry gets lower. and I am convinced more people understand the benefits.
it will always be a bit more complicated than giving up everything and put others in control, but more people also understand the benefit of not doing that.
I also think that lightning node OGs are a bit burnt, because of the early experience of running a node was so much more complicated.
I like the comparison:
if you asked early pilots who embarked on the adventure to fly across the ocean they would have that it will never be possible for an average person to cross the atlantic on a plane… and here we are.
How often did you hear we ask the government in Israel to investigate the incident (how they call war crimes) and then silence and never an update?
we need more media tracking those pressuring and informing the public about it.
here is one: https://mattmiller.lol/
tracking those the Miller says at press conferences.
