Git is a distributed version control system. It is built specifically to NOT have a backend at all. (as opposed to SVN and others that had been popular before) All clones are equal.
It happened that people used GitHub services. Now people don't know Git and don't care about reading up on it.
Imo chances are high, that the same will happen with Nostr. If successful we will all use the same relay and will blame Nostr is not decentralized.
where are those? there are many who get blocked for criticizing some parties for example.
you should not consider it a donation. if you have your backup you get that money out. I am sure somebody helps you here.
you do not own the inbound liquidity.
in your example you only own 121k. and those you can always send out if that’s in one channel.
in your example you can send in a max of 50k.
or what am I misunderstanding.
Esplora is a dependency of LDK. I think in the future bitcoin core will also be an option directly.
Regarding the DB: I think best is to use an ORM that abstracts it away and gives again options on how to run it. The queries should be simple and compatible.
would be awesome. Let me know when you have questions and feedback.
The configuration should be pretty straight forward actually.
Users have for sure the option to run it independently and without sharing data. For example you can easily run it without Alby account and also use the lightning address with limited permissions.
You can also configure your own relay, or block explorer.
We might not have a good overview and guide for that and people might need to find it from the github readme 😉
that’s pretty cool.
accounting is a big blocker for adoption of bitcoin PoS. some great opportunity there. nostr:note1339e6lvjwlt6xp6jky2aj08np3yfjp4zqj69w55s5e9uhgf9v8rs4lv0la
there is no disagreement.
we provide a service, you don’t like it, go somewhere else. 🤷
sad, but no need to swear and you’re in no position to make any claims.

Not working. I'm not able to send sats to my Alby lightning address
#asknostr
let’s debug it. but it’s hard for me to give support for those.
what error do you see?
What can we in Nostr learn from the recent surge in users for bluesky and mastodon?
Hey community, can somebody with an Alby Hub add nostr:npub1hjtt646m2tfayfw7mwpq7xlj5ylhsxh8qhmfk523zm6qm4yt09lqcf00vx as a friend and share the node?
nostr:npub1hjtt646m2tfayfw7mwpq7xlj5ylhsxh8qhmfk523zm6qm4yt09lqcf00vx does not want to run a own node but is a very nice person.
Maybe somebody can help?

ah ok, and will they be available in the same way via the api? I use the api to list all transactions
yes, all stays as it is. Through the API you get all transactions as you expect it.
If you notice something please let us know.
As I am biased I should leave it up to others to reply, but it's only:
We want users to move to a self-custodial Alby Hub (as you already have used afaik). Our full focus is on Alby Hub and we think it's ready and easy to use.
Old, legacy users which use the shared Alby node will have to switch. (as it has been for all new users since 2024)

ok because I'm slow: with no changes to existing feeds or apps, any payments made to the old node address + custom key/value found in existing rss feeds will end up in the alby hub wallet, not the shared wallet? (once I "connect" the running alby hub in the ui)
They will not end up directly in your Alby Hub balance but they will be shown to you and you can "transfer" them anytime to your Hub with one click. (so no payment is missed, no matter what.)

Will nostr:nprofile1qqsyv47lazt9h6ycp2fsw270khje5egjgsrdkrupjg27u796g7f5k0spzemhxue69uhk2er9dchxummnw3ezumrpdejz7qgwwaehxw309ahx7uewd3hkctcprdmhxue69uhkummnw3ez6vfwde3x7tnpdenkzmnf9e3k75xqss4 accounts (and Nostr addresses) that are not connected to the Hub be sunset?
no that all continues as is.
Old legacy accounts will just not be able to receive payments without a hub.
You need to run Alby Hub somewhere. This is either on one if your devices like a home server or you can run it in the Alby Cloud. We have a one-click deploy of Alby Hub (the node) there.
( for the hosting we charge)
