Talk me into my next BTC miner. I currently have a Bitaxe gamma solo mining 24/7. Call it my last degenerate behavior lingering from my fiat past, or contributing to the decentralized hash rate.

For the next one I would like to serve a higher purpose. I would use it to pool mine with nostr:npub1qtvl2em0llpnnllffhat8zltugwwz97x79gfmxfz4qk52n6zpk3qq87dze and the proceeds from it I intend to stack in non-KYC cold storage. Reasons being, having to jump ship privately or potential pass down to future generations.

Currently I'm looking at a NerdQaxe++ and Canaan Avalon 3S. Both have 6TH/S hash rate at a similar price point. The key difference for me is that I'm familiar with the Bitaxe OS and it will integrate easily with my current miner. The Canaan has its own interface, but has the additional benefit of acting as a small space heater which I could use.

Based on this, what would you choose? Do you mine?

I’ve got an AvalonQ sitting behind me at home. 93TH/s. It’s a very affective space heater lol. Probably overkill for what u want. But I’ve recently bought 10 S21 Pros with a hosting solely for the purpose of stacking non-KYC stats for a future emergency :). Currently stacking around 2.5m sats per month with this setup. If u can afford the capital outlay (I do it in my retirement fund), it works out to around $90k to mine 1BTC. I suppose it depends on your core reason. For me, it’s an insurance policy.

Lol. Don’t rush… it’s aesthetic… creates charm!

Right. I took a quick look. Noticed that they don’t yet support using your nostr keys for creating an account.

Absolutely. I'm a developer by trade and am fascinated by the possibilities for how the protocol can be used. Just watching through that episode on nostr:npub1h4v07ugmfxffcc0mv94ydy7lfcs3p3mr0nac53a8jg3g7wsac8nse275u3. Great conversation. - Keep it up.

Lol. Nice. I’ve only just found the time to go down the nostr rabbit hole. Love it.

Some thoughts I’ve been working through on my journey of self sovereignty.

I’m not an anarchist and I’m very much FOR community and making sacrifices for others. However, the government has stepped way beyond its purpose and we must be ready for what eventually will come.

Well, the docs look reasonably complete, which is a start. I've done a bunch of Stripe integrations in my time, but have never done a BTC/LN payment one. The recurring aspect adds complexity for sure. Good luck with it!

Nice. One step at a time... OnChain and/ore LN payments would be sweet. Especially for those that would rather not let the government know they've been researching the 5 best ways to go off-grid! 😉

Just installed the latest desktop release of nostr:npub1cvqlzvmjercdn0ypsmv8f7j9lge6ahsnueh5rparh53wuswftv4q49yjt3 ... Spot the spelling mistake ;-)

As a developer myself, I know how easy it is to miss things like this... IMHO, it should be left as is... Or at least dragged to the bottom of the backlog 😉

Looking good... I have been poking around the #OnNetwork site a bit. Started the subscription process but stopped short when I found that there was no way to pay using BTC or LN... Any plans to accept these methods of payment?

I just so happens I was looking in to #firefish yesterday and noticed #OnNetwork had an article on it. Was informative 😉

Keep it up. Looks interesting!
