Getting torrents and nostr together is such a no-brainer

The idea of hosting a video forever at the same identifier is tantalizing

Could tie nicely into bounties for file service

And then use open timestamps to prove when the file was created

Now the truth becomes uncensorable

The engagement on the nostr note that points to it is an uncensorable record of engagement

We can actually overcome the phenomenon of a video going viral and then being scrubbed from the internet

How do I launch my own Fedi? I’m not clear on that process or if it’s available yet

Wake me up when I can run a turnkey USD-denominated but bitcoin-powered self-hosted cashapp/paypal/venmo/strike for my friends and family so we can exchange money with each other in pure privacy but remain easily interoperable with the outside system

What do you do with people who don't understand that triple entry accounting doesn't work if you don't have the link back to original issuance?

Or with people who don't understand that without something like proof of work as a real world cost there is no apolitical way to reach consensus?

Or those who don't understand that the primary goal (above all else) is to create monetary assurances & solve trust problems that destroy our ability to trade & allocate resources?

Or with those who don't understand network effects, or who don't understand the inherent limitations of broadcast networks & why a layered architecture is necessary, or that anything an altcoin can do can be done in layers on top of #Bitcoin without having to deal with any exchange rate complications?

I think some people are just destined to learn their lessons the hard way.

All altcoins (whether they like it or not) are just (inefficient, poorly planned out) scaling layers on top of Bitcoin - change my mind

Someone tried to tell me they bought too much toilet paper. But I don’t see how that’s possible. You’re not going to stop needing toilet paper until you die. And if you’re going to die before you run out of toilet paper, first of all some loved one will definitely take possession of it after you go, and second of all you probably should spend what’s left of your time thinking about something other than toilet paper.
