To study a good arm triangle finish from a less conventional position, I’d recommend looking at Brian Ortega’s last UFC sub. Where he’s got his opponent on his side and he uses the blade of his hand on the near side of the choke. People can get pretty good at finishing from there.
I don’t know if that’s a consistently reproducible move. In all fairness he probably shouldn’t have got that finish from there.
