I don't always want to use tailscale either and it's fun and interesting to experiment with setting up relays; and it supports the nostr ecosystem. So a win-win I guess.

Hmm... I've not head this issue. Installation worked fine. Suggest installing Umbrel software again (wipe the SD card, if your using it on a Raspberry Pi). Just do a backup before (don't forget backing up LN channels manually, just in case!).
I did not use Snort on Umbrel, just installed it to try out. Snort did not really work well; the "share" button did not work and the "copy to clipboard" for pubkeys did neither. I use the official snort.social website now or mobile clients.
Are you having issues accessing in the LAN or from external? Umbrel is accessible via Tor (address is shown in the settings) from outside. Works fine for me. It's not supposed to be accessible from the Internet otherwise.
Within LAN type umbre.local in your browser or the LAN ip of your umbrel.

Fyi: I noticed that the video mute functionality does mute the entire phone (sets volume to zero). Can't listen to music while browsing through Nostr. Did not happen in Version 40.1 an prior and does not happen on Twitter client. Kind of annoying.. Maybe you can look into it π thanks

Best just trying stuff. We are so early and mistakes are part of the learning curve.
