people will use lightning and not be aware of it.
companies will manage nodes and users will retain control over signatures with lightning validating signers. I think they can do that. But individual people will probably get priced out of this like everything else.
Nice. Ive been thinking about putting this in hardware. Generation on an air gapped handheld with a big enough display. Options to store or not store the grid in a secure element. Any thoughts on this?

IMO yes. Picking a pattern is no different than picking a 12 word phrase from a 2048 word list. But the pattern isnt random, Its biased because you can remember the shape.
So the entropy is mostly in the randomized list. If your list gets out then I think you have a problem.
If someone finds your randomized grid yea. the shapes themselves should be low entropy.
Imagine crossing a border with a grid and agents taking a picture of your list. Then after the fact they go home, enter the grid into their AI tool which tries to brute force with human friendly patterns.
Perhaps you have some time to transfer out as long as you arent detained during this period.

I'm biased that I like to design my own stuff. But, the precursor got my attention because the keyboard is available separately and sold on mouser. I don't really want to design and manufacture the plastic keys for a keyboard.
The current plan is to build a similar device using the precursor keyboard, a more powerful MCU, but less total chips, limit I/O, and make a software that is small enough to be auditable.
I'm sort of lazy so who knows, but I just ordered some eval boards to play with.

precursor keyboard looks like a blackberry. Its designed as a fully hackable device. Its almost what I want. Being more open is great but I think its expensive and misses QR scanner. I might add an authentication IC although I don't trust them.
I'm assuming satslink will be actual open source and not pretend open like their other stuff. I have one on order.

I was doing ETH from 2021 until they shut it down and it was profitable. After ETH I decided it wasnt worth doing another coin.
Im all for shorting a shitcoin with constant sell pressure and dumping into bitcoin, but Im not willing to save in a shitcoin in the hopes of making more bitcoin. Im not convinced any minable coin will pump faster than bitcoin.

No node needed, it runs the node logic on the phone and in the browser. But I should have clarified, this isn't for receiving zaps. Its great for sending zaps or receiving on LN with the app running.
Its a web app installed to your phone. You can self host if you like and you can open a channel to your own node if you have one.

Custodied lightning sats will be the next big rugging. Not because of rehypothecation and bad actors in the space, but rather shotgun KYC. Start figuring it out.

There are more involved setups and i dont consider this the end all solution, but if ur currently just on custodial lightning... this is the next step that i urge you to get comftorable with.

IMO, adding an extra hop is an obvious transaction pattern and the next step is a rule against that. But yes, these are work arounds.
next they monitor your addresses and even if you make another hop before mixing it will count just the same.

Yes! Dune is my favorite sci fi story as well. The original frank herbert books are super good. Some of the brian herbert books are still interesting but the writing is not on the same level. When people ask me about sci fi reccomendations, i start with dune.
A couple years ago, I had your attitude. I've since accepted segwit. I'm doing the same kind of thing in my brain with taproot currently. Once i do accept it and when FROST or something similar is looking good, i'll upgrade my node to the new shit.
I was wanting to move to a taproot address but wallets are behind.
As I understand, segwit is good since enough people use it, the soft fork has been accepted. You can't undo segwit fork at this point. Just hold up on new features until enough of the nodes are upgraded.
Obviously the engine is running backwards and the rpm guage cant measure backwards.
