So reading Marty Bents article this AM…

- BRC-2o tokens are created with 546 sat transactions (because 546 sats is the smallest amount that can send on-chain without it being recognized as "dust" by nodes running Bitcoin Core)

- that 546 sat UTXO is worth about $0.15 today but cost 36,720 sats ($10.18) in transaction fees (screenshot)

I assume that the BRC-20 token is somehow “worth” something to collectors but …. what do the BRC-20 people now do with the 546 sat UTXO?

If they try and move that UTXO in this fee invironment there will be nothing left. Even in a low fee envioronment (like 1 sat/vB) the remaining UTXO will be considered dust.

Does this BRC-20 thing end up in some kind of channel where they trade it?

Honest questions.

It took me a while to grok #bitcoin, my shitcoin phase was super short (and terrifying) - this BRC-20 thing looks even scammier.

The haunting memory of bank runs from the past should serve as a stark reminder that banks are not as bulletproof as they seem.

Fast forward to 2001, when Argentina faced a massive economic crisis. A run on banks led to the government freezing bank accounts and converting dollar-denominated accounts to pesos at a fixed rate, causing many people to lose a significant portion of their savings. In just a few months, the country witnessed a decline in GDP by 11%, and the unemployment rate skyrocketed to over 20%.

The threat of economic collapse and bank runs is still very real today. In a world where central banks continue to print money at an alarming rate, and financial systems teeter on the brink of collapse, the security of your savings is anything but guaranteed.

There's inherent bias in the questions, which may skew how people percieve other options like Bitcoin:

Also, the answers seem to imply they intend to impose limits for how much $ Canadians can hold or receive - they should be asking instead whether we should treat digital dollars like cash if they intend to replace cash

The consultation is overall childish, I hope there's an opportunity for more nuanced feedback on something this important! Thatvsaid, I'm glad there are some spots for more feedback - here's mine on if I think Canada can keep a secure CBDC

guys, I literally had an entire thread of maxed out tweets dunking on Cullen Roche’s misunderstanding of accounting lined up and ready to go, was just doing the final edits and the browser glitched and I lost everything.

The line of differentiation between the masses and the Remnant is set invariably by quality, not by circumstance.

The Remnant are those who by force of intellect are able to apprehend these principles, and by force of character are able, at least measurably, to cleave to them. The masses are those who are unable to do either.
