Yeah, I know the history, I’ve been here for almost a year. I still think ostriches are shit and awful to look at.
I mean, I really like the actual logo I just don’t like this weird ostrich thing that’s now the law. I prefer something more like nostr:note18tlz3a8rtyrnhzp4n5y3ldj7h9sqpwpdvmz39fdx233wkzmk7m9qtrh2hx
Why this fixation on ostriches? They’re shit. The only possible reason is ‘they’re a bird, you know like Twitter!’ but Nostr is so much more than Twitter, or will be. Needs its own identity.
Someone at some point needs to be left holding the can. If it’s all their fault it will work on some for sure. Only real option is rejection-opt out of it all, civil disobedience while we build a new world on bitcoin. Fuck them all.
THE LOGO
I'm going to start promoting this because people keep asking for something that:
- is simple & recognisable
- literally anyone can draw in 3 seconds
- is NOT an ostrich
- shows that we're talking about a network
- fits nicely next to our competition's icons (Instagram, X, Facebook, YouTube, Google...)
- Pairs up well with the Bitcoin "B"
This logo has been doing the job for me for months and I still like it.
