Having to filter each and every account posting adult material is not even possible today, let alone when the site grows. It’s not a solution.

With that said, it’s probably the best solution there can be for now until clients implement filtering.

The global feed is the firehouse of posts coming across nostr, it’s up to the clients to come up with mechanisms for filtering before it hits users eyes.

For example, I mentioned to nostr:npub1xtscya34g58tk0z605fvr788k263gsu6cy9x0mhnm87echrgufzsevkk5s Will that it would be nice if a user could create a list of other users for the proposes of following or blocking and he said something like that will come someday.

That would essentially allow a member of the community to create a NSFW posting list to filter out from view and others could subscribe to it.

That’s just an idea but none of that is here yet. We can wait.

Just do what Nostur is doing.

Nope. It’s one of the growing pains of Nostr that is yet to be solved. Give it some time for the developers of Nostr apps to implement keyword blocking and the ability to share and subscribe to known spammer blocks or for something to be programmed into relays for filtering.

I hate to say it but maybe worth doing a diff of the text too as somebody could use yesterdays photo. Really cool though! What a great idea.

Any way we could have a way to create a list of hashtags and then other people could mirror/copy your public list?

It could even be include or exclude lists. (Exclude hides from global)

For example I could visit Will’s profile and mirror his exclude list -# but and follow his include list +#.

I’m brand new to Nostr. I’ve been in systems admin for 13 years and Nostr is interesting to me because of that. Perhaps lightning is interesting to me as a supporting technology but zaps and Bitcoin seem to be just a stepping stone for Nostr and not the destination.

Centralized as a protocol? Or how it’s utilized today?
