How is this a hit piece? What was a “hit” about it?

It’s good coverage for Nostr and a real issue for how it’s used.

That would probably have been better to test, honestly.

What you did so far is essentially already known and accepted.

I’m curious how WOT doesn’t work when everyone’s public keys are available.

The legal defense fund for Samourai Wallet is now open and accepting donations: https://p2prights.org/

This particular fight is important because the precedent set in this matter will either reinforce the principles that non-custodial wallets are not money transmitters or it will put targets on the backs of all wallet developers.

If you really came here for the freedom tech then get in this fight and show your support. There will not be a second chance to repair the damage done if the DOJ is not stopped here and now.

“The prosecution's attempt to classify Samurai's non-custodial coinjoin tool as a money service business risks setting a damaging precedent that could impact the entire Bitcoin ecosystem.”

Oh. That’s the argument again. Well this will be interesting.

As someone who doesnt even want to partake in GM, I mean… you’re not wrong.

Hard for Damus to br recognized by anyone on Android too as its not in the app stores. Even still, there are people running Damus on Android today, the dev is working on it.

Nostr as a client runs fine on Apple. Its probably even more importnat it does so for ensuring that decentralized software stays usable on any mainstream platform.

nostr:npub1xdtducdnjerex88gkg2qk2atsdlqsyxqaag4h05jmcpyspqt30wscmntxy any chance you’d open source the codebase that does the data collection & storage?

My guess is you’re doing some stuff manually, which is fine! So don’t say no if it’s only because of that, hah!

Understood. The bummer is that I don’t think someone has worked out storing your nsec in a way apps can use it yet, only websites.

If your on iPhone and ever want to try a Nostr website without sharing your nsec be sure to try out “Nostore” from the App Store - you enter the key there once and then you don’t need to share it with other sites.

Discussion apps with good WOT and sharing nsecs to try more apps like Nos or Nostur.

Still no way for nip-07 login for iOS apps right?

I recommend checking out Nos and Nostur if on iOS as they have some friends of friends filtering for different content types.

I never said someone had to “tune” global and still call it “global”.

Whoever floats your boat but in my mind there’s no sense trying to tell others what Nostr is or is not when there’s nothing about it that stops anyone from deciding on their own.

I disagree completely and I’m not trying to destroy nostr.

In fact, I believe Nostr can succeed because of it.

A user configures their experience by choosing a client, a relay, or their configuration.

Clients and relays can do whatever they want - nobody can stop them with nostrs current framework.

To be blunt - this exactly the type of freedom that makes the internet and its clients work.

Nobody is surprised when they launch the Spotify app or website and it doesn’t show content from yahoo.com.

I primarily browse Nostr via global (firehose). It is a complete mess. This stuff has to be tuned and nobody has to ask permission to do it with Nostr.

What about clients do you mean?

Clients can and do filter which people can benefit from it if they choose to.

Also, I wouldn’t think someone like Rabble leading a team creating a client is confused about how clients works.
