The rebels need a hero, someone who they think stands up for them, against the powerful.

But the powers that be cannot (and will not) allow a real hero to rise that high.

It's weird to see some folks acting like LLMs are the path to actual artificial intelligence.

Call me when an LLM can make deductions and have original thoughts without being fed the entirety of the Internet first. That's not how actually intelligent humans work. Of course compressing the entirety of human knowledge into a fuzzy completion machine will make it sound intelligent. You're basically making a lossy encoded compressed version of things actually intelligent people have said, with a modicum of ability to generalize by simple association and statistics.

The Turing test breaks down when you throw enough Big Data at it. Congratulations, you've beat the test. You haven't created real intelligence though, you used big data to build a parrot with a huge vocabulary.

A month ago everyone was fine with lightning as the primary solution for payments, especially for the developing world. The apps and tools being built for the global south are lightning based.

But now folks are preaching full sovereignty on the main chain as the only acceptable outcome. I don’t get it.

Have there been thoughts about temporary soft forks?

In other words, suppose there is some potential change to bitcoin that there is some difference of opinion in even though it seems solid overall. Rather than permanently tightening the rules (which potentially requires a hard fork to undo, depending on the change), is there a case to consider a temporary soft fork instead? Eg it becomes active for the next 100,000 blocks and then will revert to the prior state for future transactions after that point unless renewed again, temporarily or maybe permanently that time depending on consensus at that point?

The system is entirely broken and beyond repair. Many hoped Obama would create a new path, or Bernie, or for some even Trump. That didn’t happen.

We as Americans must choose a new path forward. What tools will we use? How will we come together to seek truth and collaboration? How will we upend power from the 1%, and return power to the people and overcome political dogma?
