It's not about intent, it's about knowledge

If I zap somebody 2 cents for a post, and there's no reasonable way for me to know where they are from, and no reasonable expectation that my 2 cents matters

I will happily break that law and happily win in court

In the case of companies that are doing large amounts of transactional business with repeat customers

and have access to their IP addresses and have reasonable knowledge of where they're from

those are the ones that get fined

its not, actually. the law is about knowingly doin businesses. read it. read the cases. this is a made up fear

i opted-in to an algo ao my global feed ux doesn't suck

not for my follows

never underestimate how hard and deep people want to be f*cked

its always surprising to me too

It's very easy to make an algorithm work

It's called a proxying relay

you change your "global feed" relay to point to the proxying relay only

Now you have a custom feed In your global tab, But you still have all your follows

the proxy performs the algorithm for you

some clients block it but you definitely can according to the protocol

they're all gone. someone bought up basically everything

buying domains with nostr in the name is like buying domains with http in the name

not as valuable as you might think

its super annoying that only *some* of the people i follow on twitter are over here. and now a lot of them dont post at twitter anymore. so my twitter feed half-sucks, but i have no self control and i go and check it, and im like why is skooks not posting on nostr, i miss him.

nostr is a protocol, not a platform

sounds like another excuse to keep on-chain stuff off-chain, meaning lower fees for me (i mine a lot)
