figuring it all out I appreciate your humor, insight, and your post whether or not I agree

someone just told me that tax laws for bitcoin are changing in 2025.

something about finding cost basis per wallet

i haven't even found total cost basis as I tried every exchange under the sun: Coinbase, Blockfi, Celsius, and the list goes on...

then i've sent the satoshis from those wallets to other wallets and mixed it all together.

i think right now it's going to be simpler to just answer any future questions that cost basis was effectively 0.

at a price of 1 million per coin i would only be saving myself 20% of 100,000.

so instead of 1000000-cost basis (~100k) = 900,000 * tax rate(0.20) = $18,000

i will just pay 1000000 * tax rate (0.20) = $20,000

if tax rate is 20%, i will just lose extra $2000 for not calculating cost basis.

I'm lazy, so $2000 bucks to not have to do a bunch of record keeping seems like a steal...

also:

Moreover, there are only five plausible sources for this UFO swarm:

1. The swarm originates in either the USA,

2. Private Enterprise,

3. China,

4. Russia,

5. or ET.

or collabs of :

China and Russia

China and ET

China and ET collaborating together is a serious suggestion in 2024...

Welp, it's more a sign of the economy IMO.

I do see problems with cost cutting and offshoring and replacing competent workers with incompetent ones which is short term gains for long term problems.

but the visa thing is beyond me. We have plenty of space for more engineers.

If the economy is running properly, I don't see a concern. Maybe in an imperfect world socialist world it's a problem where each job is seen as a position that's scarce.

But with proper governance reform, each new engineer will result in an increase of opportunities for everyone. A Mandelbrot set thing where the civilization just mushrooms out into the stars rooted in the economy with the most openness and brilliance.

Oh dear! They fall all over the IQ /fearless curve apparently. Reminds me of a kitten from the neighbors that had no fear and it was such a problem.

She didn't seem to realize any danger about snuggling with the dog, getting underfoot while wood chopping, climbing into the car with the human when the door was open. She eventually disappeared I assume bc she made friends with a coyote or something.

Im trying to make it thru this whole video, but wow I've learned a lot already halfway thru.

It sounds so much more intelligent when someone with an English accent says these things that were probably bad taste to say in the sex positivity world.

One of the things is that marriage is almost becoming a luxury item where wealthy well-educated couples profess more openness than they actually practice.

It's like the whole 60s were just a psyop by wealthy powerful men to enslave women to their companies and sexual preferences at the cost of the women's happiness and lower status men.

A new polygamy order by the high status men without any of the bother of taking care of the women.

If it doesn't fit anymore, put it in the closet and remind myself everyday of all the bad choices.

I'm kidding: slowly and lovingly let it go

Fast or slow, how to change in a way that's not too painful. But not too slow as to get stuck again.

Spurgeon once said something along the lines of: exercise patience in life's journey, trusting that the right opportunities (or 'doors') will open at the appropriate time, rather than trying to force entry through less suitable or divinely intended paths (the 'window').

Very cool if the Silent Generation managed. I agree they may have had the nerves and skills to maneuver like that if any generation did.

However, Taking off again from the moons surface and rejoining with the orbiting rocket... This seems sooo difficult.

It seems much more difficult than landing the rocket on the surface a la SpaceX, since the orbiting module is moving so the lunar ascender had to follow exact orbital path as the orbiter.... No ellipses, no slight angle to the 2 orbits and no difference in altitude...

Then they have to run into each other without bouncing off...

I'm not sure what controls they had to maneuver and how they could see where they were in orbit and how close to the orbiter...

It almost seems more likely that aliens saw the ship and were like " we will get you there and back, you guys just figure out the parachutes and water landing".

These feels like such a huge psyop rn.

cute...

my neighbors just climbed a ladder to get their cat out of the tree in the yard =)

even the cats are susceptible to the the holiday spirit apparently

I once made a GUI in VB that looked like this. The buttons adjust did random things like show a GIF or put a message in the Input box.

Japanese cars have a lot of buttons.

hope, love and "mind the gap" when you step aboard the flying saucer to heaven

do you have any wisdom on aliens... are they swarming nuke sites because they are trying to save us from ourselves, or do they just want more human slaves and don't want us to destroy ourselves for that reason?

maybe 100k is too cold hard and metric.

something like 98k is at least divisible by 49 which is divisible by 7
