#Monero using #libertarian who loves computer networking, distributed systems, privacy tech, and testing beta software. I may not be a pro, but I can file a mean bug report. monerujo. I remember that cake wallet in the past did something that made me realize that I needed to at least learn Monerujo. So I have been using both of them for quite a long time.

Well after a DYOR session I have found that Accrescent app store is not for me. They seem to be doing good on security, but they are a curator and can de-list an app whenever they want for any reason they want or no reason at all and are susceptible to government pressure. I find that to be unacceptable, especially with governments fighting so hard against privacy and becoming more authoritarian. It appears as though nostr:npub1j9qyxka5lck4tw50v7qfrs6gdwczz5ydt7ugqy6nhuva9p6dpy5q8rs2yg has abandoned their nostr:npub1vyw6twg3kwef27wdffsxawmvcycy407cehx3kj8xn0v0v5nwrgps6plpqe repo and so I will have to leave Cake Wallet.

Is that still an active development? The last time I knew anything about it was December of 2023 and I had not seen any updates from it since then.

They call it more like alpha. But yes, it's definitely very early in development.

ummm... what the actual fuck?

"Apps do not need to be open-source to be submitted to Accrescent. Although open-source software provides additional transparency and can make it easier for users to check overall code quality, it is not inherently more secure or private than closed-source software. Likewise, proprietary software is not inherently less secure or private than open-source software. Since Accrescent is focused on security and privacy it wouldn't make sense for it to restrict developers to a specific source model."

I don't think I like that one little Iota.

accrescent is hard to spell imo.

the hell is accrecent and why have they seemingly ditched their fdroid repo? thats a fail move imo

I have no interest in using that primarily because it uses Bitcoin. So transactions are slower and higher fees. And you need Bitcoin.

But your fighting human nature and human nature is generally going to be as greedy as possible. So donations would be unlikely and cashing out slowly and or buying products slowly enough not to crash the price would also be unlikely.

People do care about currency stability though because if you walk into a store and buy one loaf of bread today for one unit of said currency and then you walk into the store and buy another loaf of bread tomorrow and it costs 10 units of the currency. People get annoyed. Now, if they walk into the store and buy a loaf of bread and it's one unit of currency today and then they walk into the store 10 years later and it's 10 units of currency, they might be willing to forgive that.

Why would criminals be selling boring stuff instead of criminal stuff? And you don't have to trust me with your address. You don't have to trust anybody with your address. In Monero, an address is one time use. Thanks to stealth addresses. By giving somebody a Monero address, all you are giving them is a key to generate a one-time address on chain that you have access to.

The #Monero market taught me a very valuable lesson today, and it didn't even cost me that much money. It taught me that I'm never selling Monero again unless I absolutely must.

I was upset because I attempted to use #RetoSwap and waited several days and never got my order accepted and then Monero went crazy today and I completely missed out on it and I wanted the Monero and didn't have it and so was very annoyed

Blankets, my friend. Blankets. They cost a hell of a lot less than electricity for heaters. The human body puts off about 200 watts of heat, and so all you have to do is capture it and retain it. And blankets are great for doing that.
