Very hard for those living along the Sea of Japan coastline. Luckily it was only a 3~2 shindou where I am living and didn't feel a thing.
Hope it is a happy or at least a well balanced marriage! When you go cross cultures West-to-East with kids it is a difficult balance, but let's keep fighting for a better future.

Interesting question, in my high school photography club our teacher always told us that the goal of painting was to make it look like a photograph and the goal of photography was to make it look like a painting (in the sense of distorting, bringing focus or highlighting certain areas).
There are actual light paintings in photography too. Long exposure and the painter paints with lights.

Japanese new years is like Christmas in western countries. Get seven days off, family comes to the house, go to the temple for a blessing & charm, money gifts are given to the kids, games are played, kites are flown, tops are spun, mochi & osechi are eaten, special drinks are drunk, and the 1500 piece zodiac puzzle is assembled.
