I lived in Nagoya for five years and absolutely hated that city. The only thing good about Nagoya is how central it is in Japan. Everywhere is about two hours away. If you like traditional towns and nature I recommend you and your friends go to Gifu-ken (Takayama or anywhere along the Nakasendo).
My advice would be to look at the global posts and follow who you find interesting and the hash tags that you find interesting. This will give you a unique feed of posts. As you probably know there are no algorithms in nostr so it is more of a balance of when you check nostr and frequency of posts.
