As in earning sats? If so the biggest one for me is the fold card. I also use fountain for podcasts and lately I’ve been using sMiles. That tracks distance walked and gives you a tiny bit of sats. I’m on my feet just about all day and I average about 10k steps according to them which usually nets me about 15 ish sats. Not much but I think one day those 15 sats will buy me a fancy coffee.
I finally got around to setting up my start9 server. I ordered two of them a long time ago when I first heard Matt hills interview with nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n I was interested in running my own btc node as well as some private cloud type storage for myself and family. Apparently with the older models like mine (raspberry pi’s) you can’t use any of the Bitcoin applications. That is disappointing to say the least. I can personally see a use for the cloud storage but other than that I don’t really see anything interesting for myself at this time. I’m kinda bummed out honestly. I wanted to use this to push my technical understanding of btc to another level with running my own node and connecting wallets and such. I feel like half of the applications are based around btc and lightning which I can’t use and I don’t really wanna waste the money I spent on this one and buy another bigger newer model for the features that I was originally told I could do on the model I bought at the time. So I guess what I’m asking is can anyone recommend some of the other services and some use cases?
Finally back in my shop working on something. This will be a little shoe shelf for our house. I wanna push myself a little and do some interesting joinery for the base. I try to push myself a little each build with the intent to grow my skills over time. As you can see from my very professional rendering I’m not quite sure on all the details but I’m sure it’ll turn out be something cool.

I've had the 8" grizzly with the helical blade for a few years and i've been happy with it

I read a book about entrepreneurs who make what I consider to be modest incomes. The book was examples and details of 50 people who made a business with small startup capital and grew it to 50k+ a year. It’s called the 100 dollar startup. It wasn’t anything revolutionary but I definitely got some takeaways from it.
Trying out a 1 min video on here. This was a fix for a mistake I made while making some smaller oak panels. I used some dominoes to help with alignment and forgot to mark where I put them. Once I cut them to final dimensions I ended up with one like this. Anyway this was a quick repair vid I made. #grownostr #woodworking #mistake https://video.nostr.build/a79b54f3525c25cbf336138b7f12587f7740c7922b5cb81ed84d9a235cebbf65.mov
The client wanted a different color and some lighting so here ya go!
This replaced a painted teal one without lights. I think the black looks way better.

During some downtime earlier this year a played around with this design of my companies name “Adler”. I think it could use some tweaking but overall I think it has potential for some cool applications.

We finally installed the “Big E” and the desk. Hard to get a feel for it in the pictures but it came out pretty well.

Yeah 10 grand is ridiculous. I could see some cost for the record keeping and what not but it definitely seems like a cash grab.
Now that’s a bar! I was told by the owners that this is the largest single slab bar in the country. Guiness world book of records wanted to charge them 10k for the recognition and certificate or whatever. They said no thanks. Pretty damn cool.
More details of this place in a future post.

I took down the run and returned all the materials I could. Sold all the chicken stuff and chickens in a bundle deal to a local that has chickens already. Built a raised bed with some of the leftovers.
It wasn’t worth trying to rationalize with the township. They wanted to charge me $500 just to go to a meeting and plead my case which really pissed me off. (Civil servants my ass) and no one in recent history has every been approved to have chickens in the township. Even people with 5 acres.
It’s the most upset and disappointed I’ve been in a long long time. More so because my young daughter won’t get to experience having chickens at her age, and obviously the bit of self sufficiency that would provide to our family.
I will tell you all I know and anything you want to know about it.
The cost was $8 CAD/lb. For the 1/4 it was $1232.
Great fed. Not sure about the entire process, but drug free. (I thought it said free drugs, imagine my disappointment)
As for the cuts it was up to me. There was an online cut list from the butcher to fill out. I think I just went with their recommendations.
After listening to nostr:npub15879mltlln6k8jy32k6xvagmtqx3zhsndchcey8gjyectwldk88sq5kv0n talk about breaking down primal cuts, I may try to tackle the next one myself.
Thanks for the info. I appreciate it
I’m starting to look around for this in my area (PA). Can you tell me a little bit about the purchase? What was the cost if you don’t mind? Was it grass fed/organic type of deal? And how where the cuts broken down and was that your choice or predetermined from the source? Thanks.
1 month ago I posted this pic of my garden beds progress. Here’s my daughter picking tomatoes from those plants now. I didn’t do too much this year but I am getting setup to do much more next spring.

My Damus app hasn’t refreshed in weeks until earlier today. I never got around to looking into it, soooo here’s some chicken I’m grilling!

Do you have a list of your recommendations for these types of books? I enjoy the good ones and like to mix them in here and there to break up some of the more informationally dense books I normally listen to.
