Running Bitcoin

That’s a lovely watch. I’ve been looking at Seiko’s for a look time but I somehow always end up with a Garmin.

Yes. Well so says history. Might be a lie.

Daily Roman History:

In his youth Julius Caesar was taken prisoner by pirates while traveling around Greece. Far from being concerned for his current situation, Caesar treated it like any other vacation, composing songs about his captors, hosting poetry nights, and generally getting along quite well with them. When he heard they were requesting 20 gold talents for his ransom he was insulted and demanded they ask for at least 50. All the while he would say that when he was free he'd come back and kill them all, which the pirates naturally thought was a joke. But after being freed that is just what Caesar did, killing or selling his ex-captors into slavery.

Bird of the day: Ruby-throated hummingbird

Ruby-throated hummingbirds are solitary. Adults of this species are not social, other than during courtship (which lasts a few minutes); the female also cares for her offspring. Both males and females of any age are aggressive toward other hummingbirds. They may defend territories, such as a feeding territory, attacking and chasing other hummingbirds that enter.

Personally, I don’t give a fuck. I just convert my paper into bitcoin. Some days that paper gets more bitcoin than others. Those are good days.

First training run. Completely blew up 🤣. Was supposed to do 10-12 sets only managed 5 ☠️

Daily Roman History:

An interesting celebration of the Romans was the Secular or Saecular games. This were held every 100 or 110 years. The concept was that due to the length of time between games there was no longer a living soul that saw that previous celebration. They typically lasted days and included sacrifices to either underworld deities, or the gods of fate, childbirth, and 'Mother Earth' followed by theatrical performances. During the reign of Philip the Arab the Ludi Saeculares were held, which were also celebrating the 1000th anniversary of the founding of Rome. These games are described as being truly magnificent, with over 1000 gladiators participating and numerous exotic animals killed includomg hippos, lions, and one rhinoceros. With the emergence of Christian Emperors the games eventually fell into obscurity.
