You can lead a horse to water, can't make it drink. Show a person some bitcoin can't make them think. Bitcoin devotee, not just on Sundays!

Hahaha. Its a dad joke, and I admit I did laugh.

I think the Chinese yuan will be quite accepted both in China and abroad, especially in Africa. Where the Bretton woods fell down, I suspect the chinese yuan will get some traction. I mean redeem the yuan for export goods from China or a gold backed equivalent. Seems pretty fair for any fiat loving business.

We assume cbdcs will be used badly. And they will be for some people. But for the vast majority they will be 'fine' I suspect. I say this not supporting cbdcs, but more as an observation of how I think it will play out.

Its a great site. It makes it totally community owned and directed. I love it.

My take on that is that if you walk into any government office and see the amount of productivity you would have to argue UBI is already here. 😀

Keep watching. Its mesmerising the first print that works out

I think the US Government is opening up the path for a Bitcoin standard through the terrible economic policy we have been accustomed to in with fractional reserve banking. However, it is most likely going to be a very bumpy road. Expect to see the US, and the rest of the G7 countries, fight this tooth and nail. They don’t want to give up the fiat ponzi that they’ve gotten rich off of. We’ve already seen this with Operation Chokepoint 2.0.

We will see major regulation against #Bitcoin and attempts to eradicate Bitcoin (although they are futile attempts). Senator Warren and other will lead the charge.

What I wonder is how does it all shake out eventually? Progressives and other establishment Republicans will most likely fight a Bitcoin standard all the way. A few bold senators and congressman will lead the charge toward a Bitcoin standard, but they will be seen as conspiracy theorists and crypto opportunists.

I do think that we do get to a Bitcoin standard, but the options are fuzzy to how we get there. Is there a divide in the country where the only two options is statism (socialism and CBDC) or libertarianism (Bitcoin standard)? Or do we stay together as a country and eventually move to a Bitcoin standard as one unified country? Universal basic income seems like a real plausible option to the progressives even though history has seen the failed socialist experiment again and again.

What are the options I’m missing? I’d be curious to hear the other possibilities the other plebs in the #nostr universe are thinking.

Hard to know how it evolves. But AI and robotics play a key part here. Work defines most humans and if work is replaced by AI and robotics we will see massive changes.

Some use the computer analogy and say that computers were going to take all jobs in the 70's and 80's. Not the same. Computers needed humans to work in the 70's and 80's. AI collectively is probably already more intelligent than humanity collectively. Not sure tho on that last point.
